2000 Ford Puma Roffle DRAWING TONIGHT !!!!!

AMC Rebel

Recommended Posts

Assuming all goes well with my pending collection of Sierraman's Dad's Mondeo, I'll need to move this along.

Had it since April, it's behaved itself and got a shiny new MOT which expires on 3 September 2017.  It needed a patch on the sill for that - that was all.

1.7 pez, 5 speed manual.

Good -

Well behaved, nippy, fun to drive, most stuff works (inc aircon, heated windscreen), all lights wipers etc, will come with original radio (with code) refitted as the current one is moving to my next motor.

Replaced resistor pack for the cooling fan which restored the slow speed fan and helped aircon out a bit.

Heater is like a furnace and the Heater control valve is working fine.  Blower works on all speeds.

Had new ahem...budget tyres in April (they aren't too bad actually) so plenty of tread.

I have changed the oil and filter and put a new air filter in.

Two Keys, one is remote and works

Original Bookpack in Ford Wallet (!)

Interior pretty decent except one patch of wear on driver's upright seat bolster.

Comes with Haynes BoL for Fiesta of same age (they didn't do one for the Puma but there are a lot of Fiesta bits on it).

Will include brand new in box front discs and pads bought when someone pointed out the cheap parts on Amazon - not fitted as not needed yet.

Less good (this is a long list but I'm just trying to be 100% upfront) -

Occasional rattle on startup t'internet says they all do that sir.

It's possible to get a bit of clutch slip if you really really provoke it (5th gear uphill at 20mph stuff) but this doesn't happen in normal use and you can still make full use of the full raw power* of the engine.

Intermittent creak from the front suspension after a longer trip - doesn't always do it.

There's an occasional smell of fuel coming from somewhere (I posted about it once) - suspect this may be the cap or something to do with the breather.

Rusty rear arches

Giffer scrapes and laquer peal aplenty

"Door open" warning light is on - the doors and tailgate are fine, lock and unlock with no issues - apparently this light on is usually due to a bad contact in one of the locks.

Oil leak (MOT advisory) dunno where it's leaking but it's not the Exxon Valdez

Exhaust looks rusty but is not leaking.

History somewhat patchy - suspect previous owner (who had it since 2012) wasn't too bothered about servicing although there are stamps in the service book from ages before and a single invoice from her ownership.

I paid 395   295 (just edited as I found the reciept)  and spent 200 on the tyres - would take 300 230 or so - or roffle for £5 4 a ticket (have I got that right 59x54=295 236?)

Located 5 mins from J23 M1 near Loughborough Leics.

Righto, looks encouraging for the roffle.

Couple of rules - I will (of course) take cash for the car at any point before all "tickets" are sold.  In view of how I ballsed up the Colt roffle - I won't consider the roffle "live" unless we get all tickets and they are all paid for before the draw.

I fuckin loved the one I had- great wee cars!

A potted test drive/buying blog here https://fuguttycars.wordpress.com/2015/07/15/prompt-puma-purchase/

This looks a good one, and with long MOT plenty time to save up for rear arch painting.

Someone will love the fun of this:)

Good luck with the roffle or the sayles

Bloody heck! I never expected this to be so popular

I loved my Puma, but had to sell it as the kids were too cramped in the back. Another one would be massively impractical.

So, put me down for two randoms, please.

I am a bit too cramped in the front (being 6'4" isn't helping - although small cars are often better than larger ones even from the same manufacturer) - can't fit in Gooners, 405s or Avensiss (had to fold into to one to prove it to the bloke at one dealers) yet Yaris, 205, Clio etc are fine - anyhoo, looking forward to the extra room of a Mondeo.
