SOLD £750 Mk4 Astra 54 Reg 1.6 16V twinport sport 55K 13 months MOT (expected)

New POD

Recommended Posts

Just over a year ago I bought this car as a stop gap, with 34K on the clock. It now has 54K on the clock.

In that time I have driven mainly long boring motorway journeys.

The service history is erm none existant, MOT history backs up the miles, and condition is about right for those miles, but I can tell you that I've changed the oil, and air filter at least 4 times in my ownership.

I've changed the spark plugs once, and the coil pack once, and the fuel filter once. and the wiper blades once.

I also put new front tyres on it, which are now part worn.

I've also put new front discs and pads on it.

It probably needs a cam belt. I never felt the urge myself, but it's probably a doddle.

Why sell it ?  It gives me cramp after 2.5 hours behind the wheel.

My wife's slipped discs and fused vertebrae do not like the sporty seats.

Impending purchase of an omega with automatic gearbox forces sale.

Spec: 105 BHP, petrol, 16 inch alloys, sporty seats, rock hard suspension, ABS, Aircon - very cold. Original CD player, white dials (standard), PAS, 5 forward gears, 1 reverse gear, 5 doors, 2/3 rear seat split, 5 proper seat belts, some airbags, a 15 inch steel spare wheel, front fog lights, electric front windows, keep fit rear windows,  central locking.

Current MOT runs out in October, but I will be MOTing it early next week.

Car will be in Derby, for viewing midweek, but could be viewed in L37 at weekends if you are VERY serious. (although not this weekend as I'll be in Cardiff running a half marathon)

This last one shows the faded front light lenses. post-17612-0-51212800-1475009765_thumb.jpg

One of the best cars ever. I absolutely HEARTED my 1.6 Sport, still regret selling it years ago.

Are Vauxhall lickers from Chester classed as family? Hypothetical question.

So if it's hypothetical, would the answer have to be theoretical ?

I've had a look on the bay and autotrader, and I think my ball park pricing is okay.

Think of it as the spiritual successor of the 1.8L cavalier because in all honesty, it's like a slightly smaller facelift model.

I imagine some folks are awaiting clarity re pricings due to a lack of relations (biblical, genetic or otherwise) with thee;)

Price To a shitter £696.936

Price to Family (If you can prove you are related, on the wife's side of the family, or my dad's side of the family, but not my Uncle Frank's side of the Family, because he refused to sell me Grandad's Allegro Van-darm PLarh in 1995, and these things hurt) £400

It now has an MOT until 28th Oct 2017 and a verbal advisory, which went "Don't sell it an buy a more modern car as they are shit, and this one isn't"

Errr if this goes for that, I must have sold mine to phil_lihp for a bit too cheap!! (02 plate, same engine, 65k, garaged 10yrs, etc with fresh MOT for 400 quid)

It did get the wife off my back about too many cars on the drive though. That must be worth the difference to me alone! :P

One thing that makes pricing these difficult is that the newer (but mechanically more fragile) Astra H can be had for under a grand now.

GLWTS.

YES

The other thing is that people look at the REG number.  Why buy a 02 when you can have a 54 ? etc

GLWTS.

I have someone interested from Belper, coming late morning to view.
