Guest
Classic Cars on Channel 4, 1991 - 2 ish? I was well young, and I recorded it, but I can't find my fugging VHS anywhere.Does anyone have the complete series, or know of a torrent? There were six episodes I think, they went like:Ep 1: BeaulieuEp 2: American CarsEp 3: Italian CarsEp 4: Breakers YardEp 5: Bonhams AuctionsEp 6: Shrink Wrapped \ Future ClassicsThat last one was class, I think the Ford RS 200, Alfa SZ and Nissan S Cargo were picked. I drove my grandad insane by using all of the cling film to wrap my toy cars up so they'd be 'preserved' behind the airing cupboard.
pompei
Yeah, I've got them all taped somewhere I think.
scruff
Yes! I've never forgotten the music in the Future Classics episode...Who was the bloke with all the eighties motors in a heated barn with their own, personalised, tailor-fitted covers? I can remember them unsheeting a Cortina and it was like new.
Guest
That was the Patrick Collection. Broken up now sadly.

shite_meister
I remember the last episode with the shrink-wrapped cars-bloody amazing even at that time. The Patrick Collection had a mint Rover SD1 Vanden Plas EFi and Rimmer Bros ended up with it, it had about 8,000 miles from new. They sold it a few years ago to a bloke who pressed it into daily service although I expect its a pile of shit by now I'd love to see that episode again-any chance of getting a copy somehow? Mr Lobster
Yeh, the last episode was superb. Taken mainly in the Patrick Collections secret storage unit, everything had its own cover. It was ace and something I aspire to one day having I remember going to the Patrick Collection Museum, somewhere in the Birmingham suburbs IIRC. Wonder what happened to that? I heard a few years ago that it was still there but only open by appointment or for groups.
outlaw118
I've just googled Patrick museum, and while it doesn't appear to have it's own web address (strange?), theres lots of mentions of it, with phone numberes and all sorts. Also, in the google results there's a link to car and classic advert selling a TAGORA from the collection!!!!Anyhoo - Autoshite day out if it's still open? Conrad D. Conelrad
I have episode 6 taped. The History channel have the series now, so there will probably be a full repeat sooner or later.
Guest
Anyone got the full series of this anywhere?
AXrescuer
I do remember that series, I may even have it taped on an old vhs cassette somewhere. As an aside, has anyone seen Classic Gear on ITV4? They did a couple of cracking features on the Allegro. http://www.classicgear.tv/
Guest
I sat through an ep of Classic gear last week, the one with the Allegro economy run and Hillman Imp feature, it was fuggin terrible if I had to be honest. Awful camera focus/angles/stability, dreadful use of music, inept presenters that made Goffey and Woollard circa 1986 look ultra-interesting, and all sorts of cringeworthy puns and jokes in the dialogue. Fundamental errors too (the Scottish Rootes factory wasnt called Ryton!!) Smacked of being done on the cheap all round.
Mr Lobster
I've only seen one episode of Classic Gear - that is I only could stand to watch one as it was fucking awful. As above really, stupid presenters, poor filming and just generally looking amateur.Won't be bothering with that again.
