Another ebay rant

Another ebay rant, bought a steering wheel but received one that was really badly worn and unlike the one in the photo which looked near new. Put in a dispute then got a message today from ebay saying did I want to cancel the transaction so I thought well yeah but the transaction has already been done so I clicked cancel, odd use of terminology. What it actually meant was dispute, did I want to cancel the dispute? so now the case is closed and you cannot re-open a closed case and I'm now out of pocket by £60 due to some scamming twat and ebay.ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGH :evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil: :evil:Think I will stop using it along with several other people here it would seem.

I'm totally sick of it. Barely scan it these days -just takes tooooo long. My 'watch list' has dropped from around 40/50 , to between 7&10; purchasing level commensurate. Even my Postie's noticed.I know I'm just 1 individual, but my purchases on the Evil one have dropped through the floor. If others are like us,fewer bidders means lower prices/more unsold, and the vicious downward spiral begins...If only they would revert to the old -pre 'improved' system, with sensible pricing and pragmatic arbitration. They'll have too-when someone starts up a competitive alternative.

Well, there's eBid but it's going to take a critical mass of people to start listing there before it takes off properly. It's still pretty dead though, so it looks like eBay is going to have to get even worse before that happens

Ebid is just trade stuff, been on there twice and it's absolute rubbish. Here's to dreaming though, Ebay is absolutely terrible. 22nd in the highest traffic users on the internet, and a non-existant customer service department. I've had more than one run in with a cunt of an ebayer and had to resort to threats against them after ebay refused to help in a blatantly obvious case.If this is the future of consumerism, I'm killing myself.

The government seem to have an attitude of remove the service and contract it out to another country.I've never even tried phoning Ebay, I know its a waste of time. I can sit and wait for the despute console to work its way through. However I have had 2 cases where the people have paid me and never collected the items! Despite me phoning them up on both occations they gave some excuse that they couldn't make it over here and they'd call me back with a postal address and send extra money. One item was £40, I ended up flogging it again. The mentalism of the dumb Internet user is beyond me.

I didn't realise that you could phone ebay.A pretty dull post of mine but I was pissed off with frustration at the time, the incorrect use of wording has effectively cost me money. My brother was once paid for an item that was never collected it was either £100 or £200 either way its still a nice bonus or Fucktard tax rebate if you will.

Ebid has been going for years, it's never going to take off because it's full of the dross that eBay booted off.

I've been a member for ages and I think I've made 4 sales in about 5/6 years.

As for eBay, I sold a set of Cavalier switches to a buyer in Italy, sent via traceable means as required for Paypal protection. This joker claims that he hasn't received the switches and logs a dispute with Paypal. 3 weeks later, despite the proof of receipt in Italy, they find in the buyer's favour and refund him his £24 in full. They then have the fucking cheek to send me a questionnaire to see if I was happy with their dispute process!

Hold on, so whats the point in having proof of recipt/recorded mail?

Ive personally never had any issue with ebay (ive only sold a couple of little things and bought 110ish items), but the stories that I read on forums really do wind me up. How can a company operate in such a way. Is there no human arbitration in any of these cases, I mean, you can only imagine there isn't as it always seems to be the undeserving/conniving fuckpigs that get their money back. What is all that about?

What we need to do, is find someone that works for ebay and have a Q&A session..... :D

Was there once an alternative to eBay called QXL or did I imagine that?

There was indeed, it closed down in 2008.

Ebid still has a long way to go, most of the car parts are just everyday service items, so not much of any interest there :( On the other hand, this looks more interesting, so perhaps things are starting to look up, although as the seller is off to Italy it is probably a bit of a gamble:

Btw, to be fair Ebid's low fees make it viable for me to sell my surplus books, manuals etc, when Ebay's rip-off fees would mean I would probably end up out of pocket. There is a link to my 'store' in my profile

I must have been fortunate, but I've bought and sold cars / other stuff, and never had a problem. Bought quite a few cars "blind", as living in Jersey means that viewing first is a non starter, never had a problem. If you have a chat with the vendor before you bid, you can usually tell if they're a mong or not. Selling cars from here is a bit more tricky, but agian, no real dramas, although what I have sold has been fairly specialised [yanks/classics] which don't seem to attract the usual parade of oxygen thieving, Burberry clad retards.

Ebay's customer service isn't as stinky as it used to be - once they deem you 'important' enough to provide you with the customer services contact number that is. Once you've got that just ring 'em up and it gets sorted there & then. Also, if you've been pissed about they tend to give you some freebie vouchers to keep you sweet. Great for resoving problems, getting mouth-breathers banned, getting negs & unpaid item strikes removed etc.Paypal still sucks monster donkey wang though, you can only phone advisors based in canada who don't want to help & just quote terms & policies at you until you are ranting. It's amazing to think that eBay & paypal are the same company sometimes.

Ebay customer services are a lot better than they used to be. Certainly for business sellers that not that bad at all.PayPal. Hmm, yes PayPal are invariably shit and almost always decide against you in any dispute. If you send all items by a trackable method you are a lot better protected with PayPal as they will tend to believe you a bit more. But the thing is that PayPal allows small business and private sellers to accept card payments which would otherwise be prohibitively expensive to them and in terms of the way they operate are no worse (and in some cases better) than the banks whose policies really are designed to not give a fuck about the businesses that are their customers.

Danger: RANT!On the 2nd of April, some french bloke buys 3 of my mags on eBay. I send him an invoice for the total, including a discount for multiple purchases. No payment recieved, no word from him. On the 9th of april this bloke buys another 7 mags. So I send him a revised invoice totalling the lot plus a (generous) discount for bulk-buying. Still nothing. So yesterday he buys another. Another invoice goes out and still no reply, so I block the twonk. THEN he complains because I have blocked him. I retort that the block will be lifted when he pays for the stuff already bought, and that it might have been courteous to make contact some time ago. Now the TWATTING FRENCH SHITHEAD has actually paid up, but is blathering on that he will be providing ME with 11 robust negs. Entente cordiale? FUCK OFF.:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

The French have a charming habit of only playing by the rules when it suits them [port blockading a case in point......] I reckon your average Nigerian prince is more trustworthy...

How about posting the frog a jiffy bag full of fresh and steaming, the receipt for that can be used to stop a refund, and then let the twat know that he'll get the mags only after 11 pos are left. And ask him how all that lack of Germans treating him and his countrymen like shit is going for him.

If he does that, eBay will remove them if you ask them to. Buyers are not allowed to neg en masse.

Who wants an update on our French friend? No? Well have one anyway. So after waiting 14 days for payment, I opened the unpaid item disputes. He then coughed immediately but said unless I un-blocked him from bidding on my shit then he'd drop the negs. Wel I thought I'd give him a second chance, maybe he's just french and that can't be helped.... So the bloke buys another 11, meanwhile I've shipped the original 11 over to france on Airmail printed papers service. Today is the 12th day since the second lot of 12, and I have invoiced him 4 times, again. Pissed off, I phoned up eBay and explained the situation. They totally backed me up, saying if he tries owt they will drop a bomb on his ass, and would communicate that to the frog-eating twat. So I block him again and open 11 fresh & juicy unpaid item disputes. And LO! the horse-burger-chomping cheese-eating surrender-monkey again pipes up. Says he's not going to pay until I basically invoice him £0.00, because I didn;t give him enough discount on the first lot. Now, I charge £3 per issue to Europe. Not extortionate, costs me £2.50 postage, plus a decent bit of packing, plus printed labels / douments enclosed guff, not making owt there. Usually as a gesture of goodwill I knock off 25p per issue for multiples being sent. In this guys case I actually knocked off about 50p off each one, big saving. Like I say, I don't HAVE to do this, not obligatory, I could have charged him £3 a pop. But he's not happy as the value of the stamp wasn't what I charged. He's now said he is going to leave me 22 steaming negs. I say 'BRING IT ON, NAPOLEON'. Cause he's basically using feedback as extortion, any negs he leaves will be removed, & with luck I can batter him with enough unpaid item hits to at least get his bidding restricted. French folk: Don't fuck with the weasel.

FUCKING ARSEHOLES! fucking wankers are at it again, Paypal are as we already know fucking shit. Hows this for fair? I buy something off ebay that according to the pictures is in really nice condition, what I receive looks like it come out of a builders van and is not just shit but considered a piss-taking insult. Ebay close the resolution so I move to the Paypal claim dept, they say send it back, this costs me £22. They ask for proof of posting (which was in triplicate so very hard to read) so I provide it in e-mail form after navigating their shitty site for the link, they then tell me to try again...and again...then tell me they cannot open any attachments generally so I think why the fuck tell me to upload them three times? So proof faxed so I'm thinking after all this ball ache at least I'll get £60 back which seen as I've just lost my job would be handy. Today=Paypal say they cannot help as they cannot validate the posting proff so case closed and you've lost ya money.Fucking great, I get ripped off, when I return the item I get ripped off for the second postage and then I get ripped off a third time by not getting my money back while some cunt sits back laughing thinking "Hey I've got my item and the money, think I'll do it again to some other poor unsuspecting cunt"My apologies fellow shitters, I needed to vent my spleen and frustration at this shower of shit.
