Lovely. Father V6 had a 2200 TC new with N reg. Nice to drive and the TC had fantastic instrumentation on the dash which was denied to the paupers who bought the SC. Would love to drive one again especially a V8 auto.

My mates dad had one of these more or less buried down the bottom of his garden about 15 years ago, it had been there for at least a decade. Anyway, some bloke came to buy it, got it going and drove it 100 miles home with the number plates off another one he owned what was the same colour. Whoever it was is probably a member on here TBH!

Anyway this one looks flippin lovely, I'd heard all the panels bolted on but never seen one in bits like that.

I've always fancied one when I grow up, and now I've got a wax jacket and 3 pairs of brogue boots I recon I'm there. I just need a driveway or garage now.

I'll even let you sniff the seats if you like Mark...

I had a bit of a look over the car this evening, it needs a little bit of a fresh up but touch wood it all seems pretty good, there is a list of small jobs to be getting in with.

The nearside rear brake light doesn't seem to work, it's a double filament with the taillight which does work, I've tried a couple of bulbs in it and neither worked so I'm guessing it's a wiring fault?.

Mind you the wiring looks a bit complicated for me!, this is inside the offside rear wing behind the cover.

I also have to try and trace the wiring for this eyesore so that i can remove it.

The end of my door knob is missing so I'll need to trace one of those.

The floor carpets are a bit worn and fusty and remind me of a old museum exhibit, I'll see if i can find some cover mats for them or something, shame the sill carpet is holed though.

I gave the dash a bit of a clean, I'm going to remove that old radio and replace it with a modern Alpine CD player i bought at the weekend for £4, it has a aux outlet so that i can listen to my Max Bygraves on the ipod, I'll probably fit a more period unit at some point but it will do for now.

I've stuck a bung in the bonnet for now, it's a little small so i might stick it in and just touch it in.

I'll touch this up for now too.

The underside looks pretty ggood although a covering if underseal won't go amiss, i can see new calipers and pads on the rear which is good, the gearbox is quite oily underneath though.

So thats enough to be getting with for now, I'll try and get some better photos at some point with my decent camera rather than my crappy phone.

I'll happily take that high level brake light off you if you fancy posting it to me instead of the bin. I'll cover costs, naturally. I've been after one just like it for a while and not had much luck finding one or winning auctions.

I think it might be cracked but if its not then you can have it, it will need some new sticky tape though.

Thanks Peter! Pm incoming!

Thats a nice system, it was originally fitted with a Radiomobile 320 which cost an extra £18 in 1971, it was then fitted with the current AR brand philips radio around 1987ish.

Looking at the history it was off the road from 1988 to 1998 when it was restored and it's done 18000 miles since. Here's some more restoration photos.

I quite liked this receipt from when it broke down in 1979.

Leave it be and fit period 8-track by Motorola or similar

Just as I done did in my P6

Bulk tape purchases for very little on Gumtreebay.  The added bonus is you can stash tapes in the slot above and also in the TWO gloveboxes.

Girls will love it.  Audiphiles will feel dephiled.

Great news - the rear brakes have been done so that's one faffing special-tool job out of the way!

Oil leaks?  They all do that sir.  Rope seals, see.  None of this new-fangled Neoprene.
