RS2000 - will these be worth anything, or are they any good?

I'd never own a modern Ford, I think they're shite and have driven a few, but I like these, and some are 4x4. I think they look like subtle versions of the Escort Cosworth. They seem to be selling for pennies as well. I'm sure these will fetch a bit in decade or so?

Those flared arches on the back are really nice as well.

The early Mk5 RS2000 is a great car, the later one with the normal bonnet and flared sideskirts is a lot more average.I loved my Mk5 RS2000, but all the later ones I drove weren't very impressive at all.

Are they really that good? Ive spotted a J plate one in nimbus grey in a Arthur Daley type dealer down here (south wales), its stuck at the back of the lot with 4 flat tyres, covered in moss and needing a bit of bodywork (rear arches filler cap & sills)I have been tempted and on more than one occasion :P

I'm sure that given time, ANY mildly sporty Ford will inherit its fair share of "Old school" tax.I've absolutely no idea why, but they do!(Although I'm quite glad personally, if I manage to keep the rust at bay I could sell my Sierra in another 10 years or so and retire! :D )Have you noticed the enormous disparity between Vauxhall Shovette prices (a few hundred quid) and OMG RWD Escort prices (£££££££££££)?I would argue that the Shovette was a better car in many ways but just hasn't caught peoples attention or (lack of) imagination.
