No idea what model it was, everything in this place is totally fucked , they only stuff maybe restorable is some bland 90s tat, so not worth it.

The owner was saying that the really old stuff in the bottom bit is due to be cleared very soon so he can remove his 'breakers' license

Just before christmas the top hose connector on the e28 radiator snapped causing the hose to come off, i tried tightening it up but it wouldnt stay on.

After being let down numerous times trying to source a radiator and having to open a paypal dispute to get the the supplier to move his arse i finally received the radiator.

Looks almost identical i thought, turns out its 50mm taller than the original, ive had to cable tie it on as the mounting hole doesnt line up.

The bonnet just closes but its in and the e28 is usable again!

You can see the bit that snapped off, whilst on a test drive i spotted this,

Must have been down the drive for years, ive never seen it and ive lived here for years

  • 4 weeks later...

Ive always wanted a 305, me and FOAD were talking and came to a deal and i waved goodbye to the sunny and ended up with this,

As comes standard with 305s the footwells were soaked and mouldy so the first port of call was get the interior out,

Seats out,

Once the carpets and sound deadening were out it didnt look too bad, the carpet shout be savable but the sound deadening went in the bin.

The interior is now drying out nicely but no doubt will be wet once its out in the rain again, least it will be easier to mop up.

Im working through the MOT fail list, first thing was the drivers front hub had a snapped bolt in it, we previously tried to get it out but failed.

This is what i started with,

I tried various drills and was getting nowhere until i grabbed a 9mm one and it finally chewed through it enough i could hammer out the remaining bolt. The thread isnt perfect but managed to get one of FOADS old c15 wheel bolt to fit nice and tight,

Cant wait to bin the wheels as it looks so grim just now.

Ive also tried to get the wipers to work but got nowhere, only seem to be getting 1.5v to the wiper stalk.

The newer bits were added to keep strength in the door frame and will be replaced.

I never want to have to remove a 305 wing again, absolute pain in the arse being bolted AND glued.

Heres a video of me moving it round the yard,

It doesn't look amazing but it's solid and with the wing back in place no-one will ever know... Apart from you lot...
