Latest is driver's door, which was pretty bolloxed.............my intricate welding skills are pants, so bodgery transpired, involving rust killer, a hammer, a fibreglass kit, and a good dollop of Satan's shaving foam...to wit;

 

By the way, I heartily recommend this stuff;

 

After repairing said door, time for a bit more titting about

 

All done with Rustoleum rattle cans [base coat and 'flake, and cheapo B&Q wood, copper strip is garden stuff for repelling slugs.............................

I was kinda wondering how long it would take for someone to slate you.

This forum doesn't appear to like modifying motors so I took a look at what I post and pretty much all my threads happen to be modifications one way or another, I decided against touching the sierra but still can't sell it so what are you supposed to do.

I think it's just nice to have a thread that isn't just click bait or a carbon copy of something that's been done before.

I'm thinking "what are xxxxx like?" when there'll already be half a dozen threads answering that if you just use the search function.

If i don't like a thread, i don't look at it.

Is there a specific style your aiming for with the passat, or just trying different things out?

Yeah I do too.  As someone else said, it's very 70s, and that's fine by me.  We clearly differ on our choice of base, but that's life.  Enjoy!

Going for a woody, 60's surf wagon type look, with a bit of kustom stuff thrown in......................not rat rod, not pineapple, not stretched tyres, not "stanced", and definitely not bloody"Euro look"...............

Not badly sticking a roll of wood effect fablon to the sides, no fuel can on roof, no sanded panels.

Agree with this aswell. Haven't seen a proper woodie in years. How are you sticking it to the doors? ( Please say it's double sided sticky tape!!)

Difficult for me to envisage the whole from just seeing a panel or two. I like the look of how it was but as others have said, it's your car you do what you want to it.

I must admit it isn't my thing but I do like the paint on the bonnet. I think it will look pretty good once done, maybe it could do with going back to the original ride height to make it better to drive mind.

Nice,   but probably way out of my price range..........................these are going on, painted white, with polished rims, 13", so no rubber band tyres..............
