Junkman
Guy, I have sad news indeed. Today I received an email from the organisers announcing that there will be no show this year. Since its inception in 2011, the WCCS has raised and donated over £31,000 to our charities Tommy’s and St Ann’s Hospice. It’s been quite a ride and we couldn’t have done it without the support of classic car owners, volunteers, stall holders, sponsors and the visiting public. The organisers and charities thank everyone who has been involved, supported, exhibited, visited and donated throughout the years. As you can imagine, as the show has grown in popularity, so have the costs, complexity, administration and pure logistics of putting on what has now become a very big classic car event. It’s been hard but extremely satisfying and rewarding volunteering work however it takes most of the year to fettle into a show worth attending (never mind the day jobs!). That is why this year the WCCS Organisers have taken the very hard decision to make this a bi-annual event. So, in effect, we are announcing that the WCCS team are taking a break from running the show in 2019. The next WCCS will take place August Bank Holiday 2020. No doubt, this will be disappointing for some and we apologise if this news leaves you feeling a little sad. But don’t worry there are plenty of other local car shows for you to go to and we will be back in 2020!Once again we thank you for your kind, generous and loyal support over the years. The WCCS Team They garnished the email with this photo: This is just to show you guys what mark Autoshite has made at the event and how wholeheartedly they embrace it. Conrad D. Conelrad
That is a shame, it's a good show. Perverse that becoming more popular would make it happen less, but I understand their reasoning. Liked for the picture. Ghosty
Of all the cars, my old 740 and the LTD, heh. A shame indeed, it was one of the best local shows, but I'm sure there are plenty of other shows we can try and infringe on. Junkman
