Dukestar25
Just got back from a (very cold and soggy) break in Blackpool this weekend. Spottings were a bit thin on the ground but I persevered in the hope I'd find something you all might like, so here goes:Rusty Porsche engined vanThis Corolla hasn't moved in years and is slowly crumbling away in the salty climateTidy ovloVI fear this otherwise tidy Pug diesel estate will not see the road againLovely Sherpa with Rover bin-lids. There are one or two of these still in Taxi service around hereCouncil Uni-MogAutoshiting for beginners Hyundai ScoopNice and shitey Supra Turbo (for sale @£450)Jurassic Landy with blue front wings and yellow bonnetElderly Proton Just about clinging to it's MOT is this carb fed CavalierYummy BMW 840iVery clean Honda Legend coupeE-type mk1 and TR4. (will try to get better pics next time I go) I've saved the best for last. Feast you eyes on this beautyStill giving good service to a local garage although the grill and the wooden dashboard suggest this may have started life as a saloon (possibly a Mini Special???) Guest
Looking at that Maxi kitted 306, I'd say it was a 1.9 TD. The twin rad fans give it away. With that Corolla I swear some VW scene tit would kill for 'patina' like that and Ankhor wax it up to fuck. Someone should tell these lads that making a car rust intentionally is fucking stupid.

pompei
That pic of the Landy next to the shuttered shops and the windswept woman is pure ART. I'd have it on my wall if SWMBO didn't live here

Simply park it on the sea front with it's arse to the tide and, as the saying goes, 'you to could have a body like mine'

It reminds me of the ripped jeans people used to buy (or buy new ones and deliberately rip them) in the 1980s. If you want a distressed look earn it. Timewaster
This Corolla hasn't moved in years and is slowly crumbling away in the salty climate Thats incredibly rusty for a relatively new car!Er..... its 11 years old and it lives by the sea! Think back to the 70's when stuff like Fiats, Alfas Lancias and Simcas regularly celebrated their 3rd birthday with a visit to the MOT centre, followed by a trip to the scrap yard! Spottedlaurel
Love the Legend, that'd be the one for me.Doors in the church (?) building behind the Hyundai coupe go well with it. Ditch the oversize rear wing and that car is actually quite neat-looking. I'd personally have one without any sort of bodykit though.Doubtful the Mini pickup would have started as a saloon as they have a longer wheelbase. Presumably just gussied-up with a few Special/aftermarket bits. Good to see one doing some sort of work all the same.

Dukestar25
That means the SORN hasn't been renewed, doesn't it?I'm actually suprised to see it is 'Unlicenced' instead of 'SORN not due'.The tax disc in it's windscreen is from 2006 and on previous visits, I don't recall it ever being used by anyone. Shame really 'cos these ol' Corollas ain't half bad...

Dukestar25
Zodiac jobbies no? Loving the FIAT hommage Corolla! Could be. I'm not old enough to remember . I do remember when I were a toddler in the 70's the Rover P6 having a similar looking set of trims though. I got to agree with everyone who has commented on the Corolla; It's been a long time since I've seen that much rust on ANY car, much less one from the 90's but hey, it is exposed to the Irish Sea 24/7 so somethings got to give . I'd be curious to find out what off-roaded it in the first place though, as these cars aren't exactly unreliable .
Negative Creep
I know the previous owner of that. He paid 3 grand then swapped it 2 weeks later for a Mercedes C180 worth about £
Dukestar25
I know the previous owner of that. He paid 3 grand then swapped it 2 weeks later for a Mercedes C180 worth about £800 So this is the real deal then?? It was parked outside the Casino on the sea-front and was driven away by a well-groomed young lad and his bird. Didn't get to hear the engine as I was waiting for a tram and had SWMBO and Co. moaning 'about how cold it was standing around waiting for a tram'.
