Uncle Jimmy
Disclamer; No fruit was involved in the making of this advertisement. On ebay for a limited time only, a stunning VW Transporter 2.4D. Powerful and luxurious, much work undertaken to gain approval of representatives of the 'Ministry of Transport', including new rubber belts, gaskets, glow plugs and many other consumables. Selling as I have no fucking work, also as intermittent and irritating starting problem has severely depleted my stores of ether product.I have checked glow plugs and injectors, voltage and diesel are both present and the starter motor is in rude health, however most of the time this German reprobate refuses to start. When running however the Kraut is a 'good un'. Bodywork is really rather good apart from a patch needed on the tailgate and a crude but strong repair to a sill. Located in Stroud, Glos, shitter's price is £950*Euros no longer accepted. Lacquer Peel and holbeck

Uncle Jimmy
Mileage is 122,000 which the seats and steering wheel corroborate. This vehicle is believed to have attended 'festivals' at some point in the late 1990s, evidenced by wiring for extra speakers (no longer present). However the German Stereo radiogram fitted by my own fair hand works well and even picks up local radio stations such as 'Severn sound'. Uncle Jimmy
An old primed fuel filter was used to prime the fuel pump in customary VAG diesel fashion thus eliminating air pockets.

Cavcraft
If I had any money (I don't) I'd buy every cheap one of these vans like this one, stick a caravan window on the side, paint the bonnet black and double my money every time. mercrocker, trigger, Lacquer Peel and 3 others
cort1977
Seems like a good price for one of these, surely a quick spray over and some rimz yo would have a queue of eager young pineapple enthusiasts knocking at the door? barefoot

JohnDeere
Do you know the history of the van? The reg means it's almost certainly ex-BBC. Which could also account for the extra wiring.
Uncle Jimmy
I'm trying to think of another meaning for 'BBC'....apart from something pornographic. Perhaps David Attenborough kept gibbons in it.
Dick Longbridge
A couple of years back, you could have dragged the van to Newquay, stuck a for sale sign in the screen, and beaten off the interested parties with a stick. Sadly, the hipsters now all drive T5s as T4 just aren't hip any more. Or something. Get it running right and whack it on evilbay - I'm sure it'd sell pretty quickly. BorniteIdentity
It would have just been a kit van for OBs if anything. We had Previas as radio cars and a lot of actual broadcast vans were converted Transits. I doubt it was anything particularly exciting with no rear glass. Anyway. Glws. Low miles for something this old
garbaldy
The long wheel base vans seem cheaper for some reason even though more useful, wonder why that is.Are these turbo or just straight plodders,Don't fancy a Sierra do you, didn't think so. dollywobbler
Straight plodders. Lovely sounding engines, though not awfully grunty. Having driven back to back against a 1.9TD, I don't recall a vast amount of difference, and the lack of lag is a bonus. I call barg on that frankly. Fit stupid rims, Audi front seats and a chequer bonnet and quadruple your money.

On decent tyres they are quite a pleasant ride.
