dollywobbler
I'm putting the XM back on the market, for the simple reason that I really need something Japanese. To recap - 135,000 miles, cambelt last year, spheres last year, sill and floor welding in Nov '14 and Jan '16. SX so has nice, simple heater controls that actually work. Electric front windows, mirrors and sunroof. It does need the hydraulic flush fluid draining and LHM putting back in, but weather permitting, I should be able to get that done this week. Just need some LHM first! It's currently on Continental winter tyres, and the nearside rear has some wear to one edge (it was on the front). ABS light has been coming on a bit lately. It does this, then behaves for ages. MOT end of Jan '17. It has been one of the best cars I've ever owned. Time for a change though. May consider p/ex or something of a J-tin nature. I'm looking at RAV4s at the minute... £695ono oldcars, Alexg and strangeangel
Cleon-Fonte
May consider p/ex or something of a J-tin nature. I'm looking at RAV4s at the minute... It's a shame Subaru Foresters aren't cheaper really. Probably the perfect comfortable Japanese load lugger, and technically interesting to boot.

KruJoe
That photo was taken in Yorkshire, wasn't it? Early RAV4's are ace, but can be very crusty underneath, and thirsty. CRV's are worthy but dull in comparison.

dugong
You wouldn't want a RAV4 DW, they ride like Honda NSXs even when the MoT is valid. RAV4s are great and conquer Castle Combe like good 'uns. Does this mean our epic XM - 605 LARD RAP BATTLE is postponed? Cleon-Fonte
KruJoe
I took a punt on my LWB one at £200, but it wasn't long before the rear suspension mounts crumbled. We paid a bit more for Pa_KJ's SWB one (£995, fresh ticket, fully rustproofed) and it's a proper hoot, and almost identical to the one he bought new in 1995 when they first came out. mouseflakes and dugong

RoadworkUK
Irrelevant, perhaps, but wouldn't John Kettley be a good name for a K-Series enthusiast? oldcars

wuvvum
RAV4s are great and conquer Castle Combe like good 'uns. When I was 11, I was overtaken on the inside round Quarry by a turbo diesel Land Rover 110 driven by a 12 year old girl. Part of me has never recovered. dugong and cort16
