Fabergé Greggs
Sorry for the call out, I ordered a HBOL on ebay but it hasn't come through. I've got a bit of spare time today and fancy tackling my hydraulic belt, anyone got a PDF they could send through, or possibly photograph the "changing the hydraulic belt" section.. forddeliveryboy
http://www.mirari.fr/vVqv Should be enough to sort you out, the HP pump belt needs to be pretty tight. The pump is to the rhs of the cylinder head, above the gearbox. All fairly straightforwards. Don't lose nutsnbolts, they can be M9s and hard to replace. KruJoe
On pez models, the HP pump is on the lower osf corner of the engine, you should find yours above the gearbox, driven from a pulley ont' end of the camshaft. Can't imagine it's much difference other than that. But French, so you takes your chances. Fabergé Greggs
Fabergé Greggs
Awesome, thanks guys, but on my diesel it appears different- there isn't a jockey wheel to tension the belt, the belt just runs between the cam driven wheel and pump pulley. I can see how the pump is removed but not how to tension. The pump must be the part that moves to provide tension.. Fabergé Greggs
forddeliveryboy
Look harder! I think the pump does pivot, it must if there are just the two pulleys. Fabergé Greggs

Fabergé Greggs
The pump seems only held on by this one bolt but doesn't pivot on it- the bracket must be keyed in such a way as to not turn.

forddeliveryboy
Worth asking on the French car forum if you're stuck. Maybe worth cleaning the whole area up with some brake cleaner and shining a torch behind everything to see where else it's attached. http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15924http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10446&p=108964&hilit=hp+pump+tension

UltraWomble
PSA diesel is a sep HBOL to the BX manual - so technically you need both. Ghosty
KruJoe
Here, on FDB's pic, it looks like a normal alternator adjustment bracket: I think I can see yours behind that hose: WTF, we have a BX TD outside here, I'm off to see.

forddeliveryboy
That's the adjuster bracket on the pic I posted earlier. Just wasn't sure whether or not they'd be all the same since French. KruJoe and Fabergé Greggs

forddeliveryboy
I once failed to slacken an alternator for belt adjustment/removal - I'd found three bolts and was convinced there couldn't be four. Which, obviously, there were. It can be like looking for your sunglasses when they're on your head/top pocket, when you've stared at oily bits for long enough and not found the holy grail.
