If I Could Do It All Over Again- now with bells but no blue light.

I've stuck this on ebay but there will be a very large discount if anyone here fancies it. Was fine towing behind my Morris Minor, but apparently a Ka is not equal to the task. Not allowed to pull a hen off its nest. Pathetic.

Update

Just got in and it was sold from the ebay ad I stuck in this morning. At first I thought they must have also been partaking in a liquid lunch, but they've paid. Could still fall through though.

Oh now that is lovely - and I've been half-interestedly looking for a caravan that isn't too heavy for my car. If a Minor pulled this, I would imagine my modern Honda will be fine with it.

I presume it's two berth? Do you know how much it weighs by any chance? And can you put up the ebay link please?

Just drop a 5.4:1 diff into the Ka - it'll be fine then.

:)

As a former owner of a Ka and a SportKa, I feel duty bound to point out that legally they can't tow anything because Ford didn't pay for type-approval.

I used to see one regularly that had a permanent roof box, and used to wonder why they didn't just get a bigger car.

I would be very put out if I'd unwittingly bought a Ka and then found that I was not allowed to tow anything just because Ford were too tight to type-approve it.

On the caravan front my Cheltenham has been collected and cash has been paid in full. It seemed a lot until you look at the price of the small Eriba which fetches twice as much. I had one once but only used it for 2 nights and promptly sold it again. Too small and cheap looking inside.

(here it was looking cheap inside)

I mentioned that I'm thinning out my vehicles and this one will be the next for the chop. The LD ambulance is surplus to requirements as I'm feeling a bit better now. I can't find any external pictures at the moment as I cant remember where they are. Like I said I've got too much stuff.

Heres the inside. This is another ebay buy that needed a little attention. By which I mean the wooden body frame was so rotten that the roof was no longer attached. I made a complete new frame in steel as I'm no good at welding bits of wood together and altered a few things so that I could one day make it into a campervan. Well that's never going to happen as I've got too many other projects. What I have done so far is to put Fords finest ever engine and gearbox under the bonnet. I also found a bit more room behind the rear axle to give enough height for standing at the sink or sitting on the bog. Thats me done.

that little caravan was lovely, I'm sure it will give its new owners many more years of service.

it is quite like the Viking Fiberline my parents had when we were growing up, only smaller. the Viking wold sleep 5 easily, 6 at a squash and do it sat on a single axel, and be light enough for a Sierra to tow.

if I was looking for a caravan, then something like that one above would be at the top of my list.
