9-3 Convertable for Roffel!!!

Bought this a couple of months ago and fixed a few bits but just haven't used it. It's MOTD till November. It's the 2.0 SE sport FPT (essentially and aero when they didn't make Aeros)

It's got an absolute Frankenstein exhaust (I've got a back box for it) and needs a few other little jobs. But it shifts and with a bit of tinkering will be a nice thing for the summer. Roof comes down but by hand!!!!

I've advertised it at £500 but would just like what I've got in it which is £400.

So offering tickets here for £7!!! Or 2 for £13

Any questions fire away.

So MrsRobson3022 and I were talking about convertibles/cabriolets yesterday and the possibility of buying her one for the summer.

She woke up this morning and said what do you think of this.......We've offered less than £500 and it's got 3 spokes!!!!

Got an epic journey to go and see it. So need this first!!

Nowt wrong with 2.0 20v engines!

[/an unbaised person]

I'm assuming it's VAG's strange five valves per cylinder set up?

Absolutely nothing wrong with it but why would you choose one new when the other options were more economical/faster

I get what you're saying. I think this delayed-realisation is how I managed to pick a V70 with a 140hp engine, which is slower and less economical than the 200hp 2.4T.

You're not alone. I did this twice, once 2.0 10v phase 1 v70 then again with a phase2 2.4.

Thirsty volvo itch truly scratched.

There she is!!!

Hello you cheeky, topless beauty.

So a few issues,

Big booaarrr exhaust, stupid cone filter, wwwhhhhh tssshhhh dump vale, warpped discs and the most important part the roof doesn't work electrically.

Coming back to pay for it. It's offensively cheap so I can't fail to loose even if MrsRobson3022 hates it!!

Well it's home. Heaters not working and didn't get anywhere near temperature so think it's got a sticky thermostat. Could hear all sorts moving when I changed heaters from econ to auto and legs to face to windscreen but no air so need to look into that.

Roof has been disconnected so works manually. Wil look in to it but I know these are a PITA so will see if I can remedy this.

Gear change is quite sloppy and 2nd gear can be a little tricky at times but no clutch slipping.

Exhaust is ridiculous as is dump valve and cone filter will be sucking up loads of nice warm air so it's showing shocking MPG.

I paid £230 for it and it's tested till November so I really can't loose. (I don't think)

I can just about do a service but after that I've always gone to garages etc. I guess it's time to learn more.

Collection Fred Done!!!

Swedish cars get up to temp freakishly quickly, in terms of blowing warm air.

My V70 was blowing warm air after just a minute - whether it had an alternative source or its own generator I'm not certain (although the latter would explain the lack of forward movement upon depression of the accelerator).

Only judging by the registration - "OR" series were Southampton issue originally but transferred to Portsmouth in the 1970s.  Might not be in the city itself, could be Fareham or Chichester or another nearby town.  Saab dealerships probably had a wider area than most.

Is the roof electric or hydraulic? - The electric ones are notorious for shredding gears and being a sod to set up...microswitches everywhere. Also, have you tried lowering the hood or are you taking the sellers word for it?, as the electric ones don't operate manually.
