Interesting, is it now with a dealer? I think it was up for private sale - and Bornite had no luck getting in touch...

Tired twice. Even in perfect "Holland's Dutch" thanks to a colleague.

Nothing.

I'd have bought it blind and driven it back for added danger points.

Ho hum.

Not just a 1.3, a 1.3 badermatic; glaciers get away from the lights faster. Will this be CVH or a superannuated crossflow?

That will be my complete incomprehension of Dutch then. How did they do a 1.3 pinto, short stroke crank or smaller bores? Crank seems a bit more plausible from a production line faffage perspective.

Same crankshaft and stroke, smaller bore.

Hello Gents.

Thanks for these bumper recommendations.  I need to get the bASe through the MOT this month before indulging it any further.  This involves the steering rack that ALF892 has kindly located, and probably a little welding up front.

Please do keep any useful part recommendations coming though, it's really much appreciated!

Not very good news then. Can't see why you were evicted when you were paying what they asked?

An email went around on the village Google Group with someone asking about storage for an old Ferrari.  Next day, I get a call saying they need their garage back.

Perhaps I'm being cynical!

Anyway, it's definitely easier having the car just next to me - when you find yourself with an unexpected 5 minutes (perhaps as the result of a 'clean sweep' or wife on the phone) you can get something done.  Or break something.  It's 50/50 really.

Is that the suspension strut towers it's failed on?

Unsure. I've not seen the car because I'm still balls deep in work. I won't be home again properly until the weekend, but by then he's aiming to have it done and passed.

Good to hear. It's a far, far better result than last year anyway. Good news about the steering rack too, I bet that has transformed it.

I also ran out of petrol in it! The tank runs out as soon as the gauge hits empty IIRC.

Hey.

I've got too many threads running at the moment - and in too many places.  So let's close this thread off now with a footnote to say updates will be in my blog, and in my other 'memoirs' thread.
