My fathers or should I say the dogs car is now up for sale if anyone is interested..

It's done about 146000 miles and was a one owner car before he got it with Volvo service history and only had £1500 spent on it last year and it has about 11 months mot..

it's lovely inside and has all the toys such climate leather etc and it doesn't have the slightest bit of bolster wear on the leather..

Here's some pics

It has a scrape/Scratch on the back but he's never cleaned the car or tried polishing it out as it's just his old workhorse

And a very small dent on one wing

But it runs well but very occasionally it makes a whine on startup which has been there since he's had it and it can't be much as it went through the ticket ok and it's never got any worse.

The dogs won't be pleased it's going though..

So if someone wants a reliable old estate car and has a bucket and sponge then this is the car for you.

He said he wants £350 no offers and if interested his number is 01424 223007 the car is located in Bexhill East Sussex..

Or you can message me on here as I only live over the road..

I remember driving these when they were new. Decent cars except for the seats had been designed by someone not talking to whoever designed the pedals.

I think the car is now staying as my father is losing the will to live with selling cars as he had someone view it yesterday but the only fault he could find was that one front tyres was getting near the limit after trying to pull the car apart

(it was an advisory on the mot as were the number plates) so the guy was humming and harring so before he could make an offer my father snatched the keys back and told him to do one in no uncertain terms.

The thing is I had a look at the car today and the actual scratch on the back hasn't damaged the paint as it's just a tyre mark so it will polish out and I actually peeled it off and the little dink in the front wing will pop out so I told him to leave it with me for a couple of days sometime in the next week or two So the car should come up as good as new..

I will also change the tyres round (4x Michelin) and give it a service as it would be a shame to miss one out as it has twelve Volvo stamps in the book already and had £1500 spent last year on the suspension and £800 the year before a brake overhaul.

I think my father has decided to put it on sorn for most of the year then use it as posh builders van when the house move goes through to rip out the kitchen and take it down the tip etc as it will be cheaper than skips.

I'm quite looking forward to getting my pressure washer on it and bringing it up like new again.

If using as posh builders van then get one of those big yellow hippo skip bags and put in the boot. Fit in the back of the V40 with seats down very well and save a hell of a lot of cleaning afterwards.

Think mine is a 700mm x 900mm x 1800mm, about £12 from B&Q

Ah well, at least the dogs will be happy Vince.

Didn't get a sniff on my V70 mate, here or elsewhere. I was starting to think I was asking £4,500 for it, rather than £450.

I just spoke to my dad as I saw the car wasn't about and he said someone came over this morning and picked it up..

I had put it on the local online Friday ad for free and had forgotten about it and it's only gone a mile or so up the road and he said apart from the odd time waster or driveway dealer he hadn't had much luck and when the guy came round to buy it this morning he was inundated with calls so I guess bank holiday Monday is the day to sell a car..

I was quite disappointed really as I know a couple of days with a bucket and sponge and a good compound and polish it would of come up as good as new..

I normally like a bit of old German chod myself but I've got to admit these old Volvos seem to put them to shame when it comes to build quality as although it was covered in mud and dirt underneath it was still completely rot free and the interior was as the day it came out of the factory and now I'm sorely tempted to get myself one..

The only problem is I now won't find another one as good with that history especially for £350 with a years ticket lol..
