scaryoldcortina Posted February 9, 2016 Share Posted February 9, 2016 I was talking today to one of the lads that works at the scrapyard about the value (or lack therof) of cars, he mentioned his parent's Rover 75 Conneseur. Basically it's been an "all costs" car - recent invoices for over £1000 for head gaskets and all belts for example. Good tyres, cream leather. Test is sometime in July. This is the only pic I've got, I haven't seen the car. Often mis-diagnosed, I have seen a few cases where the local friendly garage or Mr AA/RAC see a 75 overheating and decide its HGF before they even climb out their cab. The 1.8 is notorious for HGF but the KV6 fails no more or less than most other cars on the road. A chap on the 75 forum was told his KV6 would cost somewhere in the region of £2k to fix after overheating, lucky he seeked a 2nd opinion because it just had a faulty coolant cap, about £15 to replace. Car is still going well AFAIK. Looks like it's been on fire! It does doesn't it, especially for a no expense spared car. It has black headlights?
