gadgetgricey
Yes, the car has done 270K but apart from a few issues is still going strong Bad:270KIn the last week it looks like a bush on the front torsion bar has failed which resulted in a clunking noise when changing gear, this appears to have lead to a manifold leak. £30 parts to fix, just time...Gearbox will not change from 4th to 3rd - but you can go from 4th to second and then into third.Passenger front window popped off the runners when we last had a freeze, should be an easy fix to put back on. (Will try and get this done)Missing front fog light, but have one. gadgetgricey
Well not washed or cleaned, just walked round the car and took pics as I went.Few direct below, but then a link to the photobucket album with all the rest. http://s1027.photobucket.com/user/Grizzers/library/ Just a little proof that there is plenty of go in the old girl yet Looks promising that its the manifold gasket thats failed as can see (and felt) a section where its blowing, Might put a bit of gasket sealant on it as a temp/temp fix, but its not that bad when the engine has warmed up. Cant even hear it in the car (when warm) Thanks for looking, Aston Martin

gadgetgricey
Shame, no takers for this as I think you'd easily get money back on parts,Run it until it breaks, then the interior, wheels,Xenons, dipping rear mirror, DI pack, SID, and Turbo, should easily get you to the magic asking price.Shame to do it as its running fine, (Sounds shit due to the exhaust manifold) but might have to remove those bits myself the end of the month and then scrap the rest. Anyone needs any bits for a 9-5?

gadgetgricey
Going to make a decision on this, this weekend.Basically the manifold gasket has now REALLY failed as is scaring passing children as I drive along :-DFine inside the car with the Radio on, but you can see pensioners diving for cover in the rear view mirror. 1) Take car off the road, and attempt to replace gasket myself. Then use the car until it breaks badly (no indication this is going to happen though). Then flog bits off the car to get my money back.2) Take car off the road, and start selling bits off its now to get my money back (possibly even more) Does not feel right to do this though as car drives fantastic.3) Sell to someone esle now so they can take option 1 or 2. Heart says 1, but whole reason for this being up for sale is storage issues and wife is conviinced it will be option 3. Need to have a chat with her this weekend.Watch this space. gadgetgricey
Well car i now tucked away in the garage and the E38 is back on the road. (Cheaper road tax by about £40 for the year) Got a week off with the kids in a couple of weeks so plan to have a more detailed look and fixing the manifold gasket and then probably swap em over again. Best of both worlds (E38 Cruises and has a little bit of poke) the Saab goes like a stabbed rat when pushed but not as relaxing to drive as the Auto E38. Also direct line dont charge admin fees. So was £6 to swap to the Saab, and just got a refund of £5.30 when swapped back to the E38.. If I get it fixed, this might be a monthly swap. Just got to convince the wife she's ok with a car in the garage AND the garden. Lord Sterling and eddyramrod
gadgetgricey
Right this is just sitting in the garage and needs to go. Not been touched so all bad as above, but have reduced price to £300 as needs manifold gasket etc work doing as above. Is currently not taxed or insured, but there is a small service road so 50yard test drives can be provided
