Mr_Bo11ox
I saw that lot on the way back from the R-R meat!
Guest
The Figaro is a strange one, they command the price of a super rare car, but in reality there's loads of specialist dealers for them with dozens lined up in a row! 146 on Autotrader alone! There's an unused delivery mileage one on for £20K, ludicrous! They'll probably get it too.Edit: If I recall, both Vanessa Feltz and Jonathan Ross owned Figaros at some point.
Ratdat
I reckon there are probably more Figaros in the UK now than in Japan. Suprisingly common sight considering they only made 20,000.
Guest
They seem to mostly lurk in the South East too, when I went to get to Surbiton to get my Mira I think I saw 3 driving within a few hours! There's an article saying there's 600 in UK, has to be a lot more than that nowadays. Still, people keep buying them despite the gawky looks. I'd much rather a Be-1, much cooler.
MrRegieRitmo
Do you think it's a sort of late 80s / early 90s Nissan scene tax? (not on the standard Nissans though)
Guest
It's more of a "Middleaged woman who gives her car a twee name, then puts a load of teddies on the parcel shelf" tax.
mk2_craig
Well I suppose something has to fill the void now that most 2CVs have rusted to bits
Mike D
I saw a forecourt with a load of Nissan Cubes on it in Norfolk the other day. Presumably they're selling OK, can't recall what sort of prices.I saw one for sale on the way to collect the Celeste the other week, £6495.Its a shame theyre so expensive as i actually quite like them, i'd happily run one day-to-day
reallyloud
If I recall, both Vanessa Feltz and Jonathan Ross owned Figaros at some point. And that sums it up perfectly. To be honest though, there are worst cars to be seen in. I've seen tens of dozens of them on my travels, compared with 1 Pao. I've yet to see a BE-1 in the UK. Ratdat
There was a place down south that had a yellow Be-1 for sale for a long time. They tried it on ebay a few times with no luck. At one point the price was down to a bit over 2 grand and we were tempted to but it but decided against it on the basis of parts availability. Shame as I really like the Be-1. Guest
Aaah, now the Beat is a bit different as it's a full-on sports machine with the mid-engine layout and manual box!The weirdest thing is the engine though, it's an SOHC non-turbo 3 cylinder, which didn't have the punch of its rivals, the Mazda AZ-1 and Suzuki Cappuccino, which shared the same DOHC turbo 3 cylinder unit. But the engine note is just so damn cool that it doesn't matter! They're meant to have the best handling of the lot too.

MrRegieRitmo
I quite liked the front of it, was going well until I saw a Fiat Brava on the back end!
reallyloud
I quite liked the front of it, was going well until I saw a Fiat Brava on the back end!The Nissan predated the fiat by some 8 years though!
Ratdat
The Be-1 pre-dates the Fiat by about 6 years!
mk2_craig
Looks like a late 1980s updating of the Mini Bung on some Cooper stripes, a bunch of chrome crap and a set of Minilites, then cash in
pandamonium
Was out driving last week, spotted this, I forgot I'd snapped it! Sorry for the quality but it was night! Earlyish Panda on a 'C' plate
Guest
Funnily enough I saw a C-plate white Panda in Ikea car park today. No pics as I was only there to buy a hot dog and soft drink.
pandamonium
Spotted this on an industrial estate. Skoda Favorit 'Freeway'. I'm suprised its still around and not rusted to bits as these usually are. The pickup was called the 'Foreman' IIRC.
nigel bickle
A Be-1 has just finished on Ebay Oz, unbid at £480. I was watching it -as a Container filler -but I've managed to ro-ro them.Still got the details if any one wants to import it! Sure they'd take an offer
