Volvo V70 T5 for sale - deposit taken

Much as I like this car, I'm putting it up for sale as it's one car too many at the moment and just isn't getting used.  If I need a big estate the CX is more economical, and if I want to go fast the Rover 200 is probably just as quick point to point on Norfolk back roads.

It's one of the first of the new shape V70s - it would originally have been on a W plate, although it's since had a private plate put on it (worth £350, allegedly).  As such it has the 2.3-litre engine inherited from the 850 T5 (albeit doubtless with more emissions bollocks added).  The gearbox is a 5-speed auto with tiptronic.

It goes like poo off a spade.  It's also very comfy, with nice black leather seats, and lots of gadgets, most of which seem to work (electric heated memory seats, cruise control, aircon etc).  Off the top of my head, the only thing which doesn't work is the auto dimming rear-view mirror.

It has a few issues, none of which are life-threatening.  It has a dent in the nearside rear door, which also doesn't open from the outside (probably related).  There's a knock from the offside front suspension, which I haven't been able to pinpoint - the garage who listened to the noise reckoned wishbone bush, but they looked OK to me - my suspicion is leaning towards strut top bearing, but I ain't no expert.  It's had an electrical drain ever since I've owned it, although I now suspect this may have been battery related - the battery was supposed to be nearly new but when I took it off to charge it, it refused to put out more than 11.8v, so I think it may have been on its way out for a while.  I've got a new battery on order for it though.  Also, when I picked the car up (after it'd stood for a while), the gearbox had gone into some kind of safe mode and put up a "service transmission" message on the computer - I cleared the codes when I got home and the 'box has been fine ever since.

It's MOT'd until March; mileage is around 170K.  The service book is stamped up to 156K, and there's a few bills and old MOTs with it as well.  Oh yeah, forgot to mention it's a 7 seater, and it has a fold down dog guard in the boot.

Indisputably in the history of mankind has 500 sheets never bought more high performance 7 seat fun on wheels than what is on offer here

and now  with this beauty, thank the lord I am skint, at the opposite end of the country and  yet old enough to remember when the Police started using these machines and I could not believe that a Volvo could go this fast, in fact I was pulled over by a T5 traffic car in 1998 and breathalized  (reading was 0.00 didn't drink in those days) and ended up talking to the rather nice Constable about what a great car the V70 T5 estate was, now drink far too much and have never driven one, like I say fortunate I am so far away.
