SiC
No need to spend that money on a mig if your just fannying around with cars. There’s loads of really good migs for 300 quid. If I had that money for a welder I’d be getting a tig.Yeah I believe it does MIG, MMA (ARC) and TIG. All the tools and attachments I believe come with it. Bloody expect so though. What draws me to it though is making very good welds without much skill or practice. Rather than having to learn the skill of setting up the machine and settings, you become just a torch guider. Tickman
Time to get Ben out today. It is a bit narrow. Getting there. It has been several tears since this was empty. First trip out may as well get the shopping I need. Still haven't managed to get a battery clamp for it. Next stop Forfar. I can confirm that he will happily sit at 65 going up the A90. Time to check the tracking on the Clio after the gearbox was changed.Just a little out. Here too. Up in the air to adjust, one side is free but the lock nut on the passenger side doesn't want to move on the shaft, it is free from the trackrod so penetrating oil has been applied. Ben wanted to go for a quick drive so KFC was visited and he was then reversed in so he could be put away for the day. Here is the chock full workshop at close of day (as much as I was doing today) Not too bad a run for him as he has been off the road for about 20 years and after 10 minutes round the local area I get straight on the A90 and he does me proud. 320touring, Dirk Diggler, Vince70 and 20 others

Tickman
You need to have a word with SiC. Only a speedometer present and that was making a horrible clicking noise as the cable was not quite in the back of it so that got disconnected in one of the parking laybys of the A90 on the way to Forfar. I already had the phone app running for the speed so I could actually see how fast he was going. DeeJay

Supernaut
You have the tools to do tracking... hmm? The BMW I picked up from that very place a couple of weeks back feels like it needs the tracking done. That bridge can be crossed post-MOT though. Tickman
Before the Clio, who has been named Sid, goes to Knockhill a few jobs were needing done. Firstly I ordered the Auxiliary belt kit and it arrived. I got an excellent diagram off the internet. I took the front off the car. I messed around for ages and got to this point with the tensioner changed, and the pulley underneath also changed but the belt not on. I butchered an extension bar and stuck it to a flat bit of metal I had from an old railing. I put a bit of a bend in it. I adjusted the bend a little more. Finally. Back together and had enough for the day. Next time tracking needs re looking at. Tickman
When I got the green Clio for Chuck (her money, not mine) the hazard lights only worked on one side, it is due an MOT in a few weeks so time to get sorting things. Initial discussions with our tame Clio collector said TADTS but try cleaning the switch, several months later I had a look at the switch and it wouldn't latch at all so I went on ebay...
