meshking
Defo interested in pics. What are these like to live with? I'm looking for something reliable enough to take me to the airport, but not too nice that I don't want to leave in the car park. Something which is over 20 years old would be good too - how old is this? Sent from my SGP621 using Tapatalk
MarvinsMom
pics please - could be just the thing for OMGSNOCHAOS. a 3 door model wasn't that just a mark 1 model?

Sloth in a bowl
bewdley i'm guessing, though i have chuff all idea WHERE exactly that is... Shropshire, about 10 miles from M5 junction 3 (or 4 or 5), nearest (non-steam) railway is Kidderminster. MarvinsMom
NorfolkNWeigh
3 doors were available right up until the Disco2 came along and are the favoured version of fat bastards everywhere- the door's bigger and the drivers seat goes back an extra couple of inches. When I finally get my act together and make some space, a late 300 V8 ( an oxymoron ,I know but what else can you call them?) 2 door XS will be on my shopping list. KruJoe
What are these like to live with? See if you can dig out D_Wobbler's thread. His old one is now Mrs_in_the_welder's daily. meshking and catsinthewelder
red5
Very easy to live with. Decent road manners. Cruises nicely (and cheaply). And what Krujoe said. meshking

Lacquer Peel
What's the Land Rover TDi like on veg with minimal/no modifications? I know someone who converted his Discovery to a twin tank setup and it was endless trouble, but I think it was the conversion more than running on veg. red5
75% in summer no bother (straight tank fill, 0.5% mineral 2t (FB) l at same time.) Winter 40/60 is lowest I have dropped. Higher if it's mild naturally. Change fuel filter every 3k or so (£4ish from local specialist) Lacquer Peel

Quite the opposite -the doors are the same size on 3 and 5dr models. Which makes getting in the back a little awkward on the 3drs. I've run mine on 100% new veg oil before, although I usually fill with diesel.
barmatt
These are great to live with as a daily. I've had 3 so far, 2 of which were 3 dr models and I love 'em. Nice road manners, easy to drive, good tow vehicle / load lugger, almost as good off road as a Defender but a shed load more comfortable and if you have a little fiddle with them (tweak the turbo, de-cat, de-egr etc) they are actually reasonably quick for 2 tonnes of Solihulls finest. If I hadn't just bought a V8 RRC I'd be all over this, I'd been looking for another 3 dr for a while but then the Rangie cropped up, for that reason I'm ooot. barmatt
Oh yeah, I've run them on wvo/svo for ages and they just drink it up. 100% svo in the summer with no issues.
NorfolkNWeigh
Quite the opposite -the doors are the same size on 3 and 5dr models. Which makes getting in the back a little awkward on the 3drs.It must just be the extra seat travel then , I assumed the door was longer. I can't ever get comfortable in 4 door Discos or RRCs. But 2 doors are perfect.
Tayne
Might you be confusing a 3 door RRC (longer doors) with a 3 door Discovery (standard doors)? NorfolkNWeigh
Fat_Pirate
My raffle radar predicts this one will sell out quickly @ £12 a ticket. I'll take a couple!
Coprolalia
I mentioned this to the better half. She said sure. Unfortunately it was a "sure*..."Followed by "If you actually buy it I'll stab you". Suffice to say I'm moister than an otters pocket for a raffle. Lacquer Peel
Boschtastic. I've run mine on 100% new veg oil before, although I usually fill with diesel. I knew they had a Bosch pump, but that isn't a guarantee of veg friendliness. See multi-cylinder VW diesels.
