Arrrgghhhh. Are scrap metal prices going up again?

Just had a phone call of Mrs L.She's happily working away when she gets a knock on the door. Parked outside is a flatbed truck and some bloke stood at the door."Shall I just take dis old Renault away for you?" he saysNo thanks she says I don't think my husband would be very happy with that!"Oh so you don't want rid of it then""no""Oh we get a lot of them so I can let you know if I get any parts if you like...."And off he went.Should I be worried about having my R11 suddenly Hiabbed? To be fair its not easily accesible being parked next to two other cars and next to the house and behind a 2m hedge but even so...She finds it all very amusing. I find that its a sign I need to get on with fixing it. And a reminder that I really want to move house

We ran a story on this last week. Scrap prices are rising. Don't think they'll get silly again, but they were never going to stay as low as they had gone (£10 per tonne, now up to about £30 I think?)

sadly* I don't have anything bilge-worthy at the minute, so no need to fear the hiab / set the dogs on any door-knocking tinkers.

 

 

* this situation cannot continue. I haven't had any offensive grot parked outside the house for months now, rather letting the side down i feel.
