trigger
I don't know if it's worth me posting this here but I'm seriously thinking of shifting all my magazines, i never really look at them, they take up a lot of space and the extra money would be handy, especially with this Dolomite and a baby coming. They won't be cheap though and i don't want to start selling separate mags and you'll need a van or trailer to collect them as they are very heavy. Firstly there's the CAR magazines, these date from February 1966 to the end of 1994 with a few newer ones in there as well, I'm missing about 9 from the full collection, namely Apr, May, June, July 66, Feb & Apr 67, Nov 70, Apr 71 & Jan 78. These have cost me a fortune and are worth a lot if sold separately on ebay i believe, I'm looking for offers on them (Annoying i know but i really don't know what they are worth as a collection). Secondly is my Autocar and Autocar & Motor magazines, frankly there's hundreds if not thousands of these, ranging from 1960 to 1994, again almost every issue but i can't be arsed to go through them all and check which ones are missing. The earliest ones are mostly missing their covers until about 1965 but all of them are in good condition. Again on ebay i suspect they could make a nice little business selling them individually and again I'm looking for sensible offers.

trigger
Aye, your probably right but it's no point hoarding stuff, I've been building the collection up since the early 90s so it's going to be a sad day once they go. barrett
I would love a full run of CAR from the good old days. Do you have any sort of figure in mind? I don't wanna insult you with a low offer, but I'm also flat broke...

Timewaster
Car has a bit of a following so there should be some takers. I had a massive collection of What Car? that ended up in the skip cos I didn't want to move house with them and couldn't give them away. trigger
They are a excellent magazine, much better written than it's counterparts. Even now you can pick up a 45 year old issue and still learn something. M'coli and mercrocker
406V6
Interested to see whether anyone steps up to buy them. I can see that an ebay dealer might want them but you'll be lucky to get tuppence ha'penny per copy. I've got a few old car mags from the late 70s through to early 90s and they're more than likely to end up in the recycling. I can see that people might want to read the Autocar road test of the Allegro Equipe (yes, I bought it at the time) but would anyone pay for it ? RoadworkUK
Is there not somebody on here who has an absolutely colossal drum and could set up the official Autoshite Nostalgic Archival Library (ANAL)? It would have 24hr public access if you send off for a special key. And bring a bottle. michael t, mercrocker and trigger

2MB
If I had room for this lot either side of the toilet I would be considering it. barrett
£150 for all the cars? Yeah, I'll have 'em. Might take me a while to get some cash freed up but you're not desperate to shift them are you?? trigger

PhillipM
I just got rid of 4000 magazines, similar things, autocar, autosport, motor, etc. Nobody was buying, I gave some away to an old autocar writer who swapped for a bottle, the rest went to a shop gratis to save the hassle of dumping them. And yes, the reason was a sagging ceiling! mercrocker
Hope these find a good home but if my experience is anything to go by I think only the Car will have any appeal. There were two stalls at Beaulieu (both in the posh tents) flogging off 50s Motocars for a quid a go. Very tempted myself with the Car mags but my interest wanes c1972. Old houses do NOT like magazine magpies either! Bit extreme but one of the reasons for building a proper conservatory on a 60cm concrete footing was to ensure adequate magazine / book storage.
