Fine pictures thanks.

The one of Greys Monument shows a previous generation of public transport that managed no local emissions, no batteries and must have worked well enough that plenty of European countries still have them.  The trolleybus.  Perhaps I am missing something but for me, it shows the real value of old pictures like this.

^^^^ Travelling on one of those as a small boy, South Shields had them too (blue/cream, of course)....

Setting off:- KLAKKK (contactors) very smooth takeoff & motor sound was a ..mmmmmmmmmmmmm..

I think a further KLAKKK was lobbed in at about 10 mph, iirc.

I really liked them cos my regular route home/shopping wasn't a trolley route and only a 'trekk' somewhere got me on one ;)

Guest Lord Sward

All of those high voltage high tension cables over public spaces would probably give Health and Safety men a rectal prolapse these days.

Been to Geneva lately?  Full of them and they are ANCIENT.

All those photos are quite emotional to me as they remind me of my late mam.

I've said too much and I'm in wine.
