Milford Cubicle
When I saw this on eBay I couldn't help but bid on it, it's the tidiest one I've seen in many years - probably because it spent much of its life in London, and has only been in the north of Scotland for a few years - best get the Waxoyl out! It has a couple of problems - FUBAR'd exhaust and an intermittently grinding and graunching clutch (release bearing?) Unfortunately for what was a pretty popular car in its day, some common parts like the centre section of the exhaust and shock absorbers are no longer available, and other parts are pretty pricey. Luckily it's had a lot done recently, like all the brake pipes, pads and discs. I might not live to see it fixed... the valve cover gasket is pisses oil onto the exhaust manifold, and it did its best to poison me on the way home. Inside is pretty 1980s, but very roomy if you're in either of the front seats. The rear seats are next to useless with tall people in the front. It's a surprisingly comfy car to travel in, with a decent ride quality for a small car. 4WD plunger
wuvvum
That's a rather threatening-looking cloud in the second pic. I've always liked these - not owned one as yet but it's definitely on my list. I like the look of the facelifted ones, and I've always been fond of 3-pot engines. I had a Suzuki Swift-shaped one with a 4-cylinder engine and permanent 4x4, but that was almost completely devoid of character, although a competent enough car in its own way. Nice purchase - especially if the weather is about to get as bad as they reckon it is...
Torsten2001
Are these boxer engines or in-line fours?
wuvvum
They're an inline triple. 1189cc if memory serves.
Milford Cubicle
Inline triple which sounds cracking, they've got a really bassy exhaust note compared to other 3-cylinder engine I've heard and sound similar to a flat-six or straight-fiveNice purchase - especially if the weather is about to get as bad as they reckon it is...Not really, when the auction ended it only had 1 day's tax and MOT.
