retrogeezer
The escort appears to have a very slight leak from the heater matrix (I think) I noticed a small amount of fluid on the carpet when I first got it and dried it up along with a little that was in the ducts for your feet under the dash.I kept my eye on it and left some kitchen roll under where it dripped and all appeared to be fine but today there are fresh drips on the kitchen roll.I haven't used the car for a week and it seemed to be o.k when I used it every couple of days - could this have anything to do with it?And, is it worth using radweld or whatever? It only seems to be a little bit so I'm not too bothered.CheersRG
ashmicro
Mmm. I've had mixed results with Radweld. I can recommend a product called Celit. It's basically a little bag of filings which you bung into the cooling system. I used this on the heater matrix in my Montego after a severe "wet carpet" incident, and it cleared it right up, never to reappear. It's about a quid, usually only available from proper motor factors (i.e., not Hellfrauds). If you can't find it anywhere, let me know and I'll post you some. Pete-M
K-seal will sort it if it's not a split hose.
retrogeezer
I've just had a good look with a torch and it is just a few drips so very minor...will have a look for the Celit stuff - thanks for the tip. If I can't find any I'll give you a shout.
