Approaching Port Sunlight. Worth having a read about this place. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Sunlight Ken, just got a surprising call from Jim who is going to pick me up from the station. purplebargeken
Cool! Pez station shot and two puzzled bikers in one go. She looks quite tidy up top. Northern bird poo, fabulous. It will be interesting for you to compare the Dolly to the larger engined Tolly. Lord Sterling

dome
That looks cracking on those wheels to be honest. If anyone wants 5 Minators for their Triumph with legal but not great tyres then let me know, how does £200 sound?

purplebargeken
Just spoke to daniel, the LGD is now safely tucked up in a garage. I shall let Daniel post piccies and make rude comments, etc. Just to say a big thank you to the folk on here offering help with the moving of said Dolly. Huge appreciation all round and of course to Daniel (and Magda).
stillOrange
The drive home was rather uneventful. Quick stop for some much needed air pumpage to one wheel and some pez. Then onto the motorway and whizzed home in no time. Let me dazzle you with some pictures: Classic lines Smiley face Mersey/Cheshire crap Nice bum No foam left there This is where this car lets it down.... the steering wheel rubber is in TERRIBLE state.. It needs a new wheel and I heard one member of this forum has just the thing... All running well here. Fan worked when needed and kept the temperature nice. purplebargeken
Many, many thanks to Daniel for going on a Dolly rescue mission Hope your first drive of a Dolomite wasn't too traumatic. These cars are very simple and straightforward to drive and to work on. Yes they are prone to rusting but to be honest, that one doesn't look too bad on the face of it. I have actually found a dash set in my garage that I had forgotten about and that will be swapped over. The steering wheel is the low rent one, hence the black paint. I will give it a good scrub and repaint. If the worst comes to the worst I will buy a leather cover. I always used to replace them with the bare alloy one but don't think I will this time. The door cards look reasonable. Not sure about the headlining, hopefully it is intact but they tend to be stained brown due to the glue used. I have an easy fix for that, so no worries there. Carpet can be sorted in time using a set from Coverdale if warranted. I have a set of rear bumper end caps and a piece of door trim to go on. I may also have a brown vinyl interior to fit, so can do away with the dead seat but could also look at getting it sorted if I really wanted. All the lights work and the gauges too, so no worries there. Dan, the fan on these little one's runs all of the time. Yours has an aftermarket electric fan with the switch under the dash. The engine bay will get a good clean and the OHV engine will get a service. New 88 degree thermostat is recommended for these cars. So far am well pleased. I've never had a Brooklands Green Triumph, so that is a happy first. Can't wait to get hold of her I can guarantee that she will look very different in a couple of months, oh yes. Her mileage is 81, 535 (or so). Thanks Daniel :) Junkman

purplebargeken
I see the LGD has a typical oil leak from the rocker cover. They all seem to do that. At least it stops things from rusting too much

Well, Sprint ones are. Maybe not 1300s. Junkman and Skizzer
