155V6
I went along to this today with my Dad who was a big fan,it was only about 5 miles from me.There was a Church service, followed by the road through Farnham town centre being closed off & a parade of cars associated to the late Mike Hawthorn.Sorry about the small pics,I forgot my camera(again)& had to use my phone Stirling Moss Damon Hill I did see this one as we were leaving & thought it would make up for all the others
Baz
Some interesting stuff there....I'm slightly confused as to how a 1984 Jaguar XJ Series 3 can be associated with Hawthorn, who died in 1959?

tatmeister
I have some information given to me on good authority!1) The cars were going very slowly because the police took over and tried to control the convoy from the front - in spite of being told that a lot of them had cooling systems which can't cope at low speed. So they either broke down or waited for a big enough gap to put their foot down.2) Every car had some kind of link to Hawthorn - the Jag is something to do with a dealer he was involved with (apparantly still trading today).Sorry, not much, but I hope it helps!
