I've been pulled over by the cops in a Maxi with less door flapping corrosion than that - their objection was C&U though so it may be OK for an MOT.  Coppers were more numerous and stricter then though.

Updates are:

P38 still working but about to have an eas disaster.

P4 working but oil pressure light keeps coming on, I changed the oil and filter yesterday, oil was black and lumpy and a bit of water presumed condensation in the filter housing, it's better since oil change but light still flickering, idly browsing ebay it transpires that series 1. Land Rover prices have made these engines expensive so I'm shitting myself about that.

Scimitar working, I've got a feeling it needs head gaskets soon though.

Jag x300 going well, fixed some leaks, the exhaust has got worse though and needs replacing

Jaguar mk10, I've fixed the exhaust, helicoiled the manifolds but being a Twat I made them m10 which means 17mm hex head which is a bit bulky and unsightly but I found some spare manifolds which I can get blasted and coated

Ex pbk beetle still going well but cosmetically challenged as ever so I've entered his raffle for a replacement

Fireblade in bits but closer to being on the road

Thames van. I've done a bit of work on the drivers floor but not much else

Mgb still rotten, can't be arsed to weld it up.

Bought a saab convertible with a rattley engine but too lazy to fix it.

Not heard from Harry the Riley owner despite writing to him so a bit concerned about him :(

Question for you Michael; I realise it's going back a bit but how did you clean up the aluminium bike engine cover?

Had a lovely Daimler double six in for an mot and service, it became a lot more, the bonnet had a bad shut line and the owner wanted me to adjust it and it went at a jaunty angle, turned out it was rotten at the hinge

Having the bonnet off was handy as I had to change the plugs, 4 hours of my life I'll never get back and I needed physio the next day.

Now I'll admit to being a massive bellend.

Customer has an L200 with noisy propshaft, I take Prop off and press new ujs into and then take it back to the truck to refit it. Truck is on steep slope, handbrake shit so had the grand idea of fitting the front of the prop and then starting it up and engaging gear to line up bolt holes.

What a prick
