michiel
^wow^ (was meant to appear under the 929....) Wow indeed! That's amazing and I want. Like a Lagonda / Escort mk3 hybrid from the front three quarters... With even a hint of Tagora!
flat4alfa
been meaning to grab a pic of this Alfa 6 for ages.. its been lying in a garden in Kirkcaldy and hasnt moved in over a year.. a bleak future I presume. It's reasonably tidy too. I have good news It has been bought by the same collector who bought my Alfa 6 last month. Are two enough? Well, no. He already has another Alfa 6 (six-carb one) which he has spent upteen thousands on at a restorers. They all live together in a rural Yorkshire harmony. CortinaDave
been a while since I've updated this so... some spots from my travels over the last few months around Scotland. CortinaDave
The F**king Saab I'm having all the hassle from the garage with just after it stranded me in Berwick and a few from Grampian transport Museum in Alford.. Leyland Electric Vehicle Electric MK5 escort - Imagine the misery of driving this.. MG EXE Prototype Remember the unregistered Cortina that sold for 18 grand a few months back? quicksilver
The electric Leyland used to be at Gaydon too. I remember those electric Escrots - the grille looks crap, like it was made with a hole punch, but the wheels are cool.

Sorry for the terrible picture quality - its mostly "point in the general direction" jobs as i was passing. Some great stuff there - mostly around Edinburgh by the looks of it? There's often tat where that X1/9 is parked - not sure if it's anything to do with the businesses opposite, which I presume is where the C-prefix Beetle for sale was seen, I used to see a lot of old aircooled VW stuff in the vicinity when living there. CortinaDave
Thanks for the bump! The pics were taken all over the place really.. Some fife, some Aberdeen, some Dundee and some Edinburgh in that last lot but yeah the x1/9 was in Edinburgh opposite the beetle and the shoddy cavalier. Spotted this guy the other day in Kirkcaldy.. A Vanden Plas 4 litre R in daily use.. Solid but very dirty - the owner wandered into poundland Junkman
Felly Magic
I'm sure that VDP is the one that used to belong to the editor of Craptical Plastics. It's been in again recently and lives up that way.
CortinaDave
I was also a bit irritated to see the blue C reg mk1 sierra above appear on gum tree a fortnight ago now minus engine, box, props haft and wheels courtesy of a kit car builder. DodgyBastard
This is owned by an old dear in Rosyth, her son apparently owns a Viva though I've never seen it. Junkman
phil_lihp
Knew I'd seen that orange Viva, it lives in Devon now. Young guy owns it, and alas it now sports brutally chopped springs and a matt black bonnet. I've heard it's now so low it's almost undriveable... Still, I suppose it's still on the road and the mods aren't irreversible so it could be worse.
CortinaDave
Devon?? The car was in Peterculter near Aberdeen so that's a hell of a trek! Had been for sale for ages but although it was tidy the £1750 he wanted was too salty for me. Shame about the barrying but at least it's a better fate than the sierra
HillmanImp
That Vanden Plas is EPIC. What was the owner like? I imagine him to be a bit like Greengrass off Heartbeat where time never moves on.
CortinaDave
Looked about 40, just an average bloke really which is a shame.. would have been much better if he'd been a greengrass/onslow type. Kudos to him for running that through the Fife winter though... Thought it was time for a bit of an update - my 9-3 is borked AGAIN, so I've found a local Saab loving mechanic (who it seems is also a top level Shiter ) who's trying to figure out whats wrong with it. Meantime he's given me this to smoke around in which was jolly decent of him... It looks a lot better in the pics than in the metal - its done 263k, is literally hanging with rot, the headlining falls onto your face on a regular basis and the interior in general is shafted - but strangely it drives quite well, and I'm quite happy to plod around in it meantime. He's got a load of interesting shite lying around his yard too: Some other spots while I've been out and about mostly in Fife/Edinburgh/Aberdeen: Finally, a couple from holiday on Kos last year - I took loads more, but drunkenly wiped the camera the daay before we came home (whoops) Have to say, I was disappointed to see how much of the shite that was on Kos a few years back has now gone. When I went there back in 2003/4 it was literally teeming with 70s shite, especially Datsuns, but a fair few cortinas etc too. Theres still a few, but much, much less. oldcars
It's a Mini MarcosI love that Capri, especially the way they've stuck the rear wheelarch repair sections on over the rust! And its still there, but its very pink in parts now.

CortinaDave
That cavalier was indeed in London... Marlybone area, but taken last June when I was down at a work thing.Still taxed and tested says DVLAThe sideways on Sierra sapphire (no idea how to flip it) belongs to a banger driver round the corner from me. It's an absolute minter but undesirable colour/spec - 1.8 cvh lxIt appeared about a year ago but hasn't been washed once and disappeared this week so I presume it's off for its coat of dulux. CortinaDave
A few more from this weekend. A chevette I papped in Dundee , and a haul of shite I came across in a walk with the missus this eve. The disintegrated Capri was once a 2.0 ghia auto with red trim it seems. What a shame. Jim Bergerac, vulgalour, Bucketeer and 2 others
