danthecapriman
Very nice. Love the colour and the interior. It's my fav spec too, saloon, 2.3 auto, GLE, perfect! I really miss my old gold one!
eddyramrod
My second favourite.... I love estates! And yes, I miss my blue GLE estate. The white 940 somehow failed to measure up. Think I'm going to have to have another 740 before they all go round the oval. Or over the border! danthecapriman
Guest luke83g
What sort of mpg can you get from one of these beasts? eddyramrod
eddyramrod
If you have to ask... Seriously, it's the wrong question. They're not about mpg. They're about comfort, waftiness and style, with added strength. And if you buy an estate, lots and lots of added space. Think cathedrals. If mpg is important, don't buy a 740, go out and buy a Speedfight. If you can think of anything that outweighs mpg for you, then buy the Volvo, because whatever you just thought of, it probably does. stripped fred
My guess is low 20's around town, high 20's on a run maybe even 30 on a long run. I actually have no idea but that's what i'd put my money on. Am i anywhere near?
rml2345
Low 30s on a cruise isn't too difficult but like most big autos, they chew fuel on short urban runs.Always preferred the saloon styling to the estate and they're starting to get rarer now. Sunroof problems shouldn't be too difficult to rectify as all the interior panelling above the window line comes out quite easily and would allow any prospective owner the chance to attempt a Bollox standard headlining retrim at the same time.Fantastic wafty old things. GLWTS. Edited to add; Of course having said saloons are getting rarer, eBay is full of them. eddyramrod
cms206
The headlining damage and the leaky sunroof are unrelated; I've had too many of the sodding things and the headlinings just come to bits. I'm managing 23ish round the doors in my 740GLE 2.3 auto superleggera estate, 35 is possible on a run (managed that at Shitefest). £700 to me seems on the steep side - the three 700s I currently have combined only came to £430 - but if it's otherwise as tidy as it looks at it's not going at the front end then you might be lucky. Partridge
If you break I wonder how much you'd get for the seats? They look awesome. I'm sure somebody will love them to class up their Volvo...

Partridge
Personally I think it's a smidge too much to sell on here quickly (we're all tight). Tried the blue forum?

Guest JordanL
Its been posted on a few forums to no avail yet - Open to realistic offers but much less than the advertised price and it will be just as cost effective to break & race.
