Citroen Xantia 1.9 TD Bosch pump full service history

Someone please rescue this beauty

Xantia 1.9td

2 months MoT

130,000 miles, full service history. loads of bills and a fully stamped book

Only 3 owners, the last of which had it for 14 years

Interior very good

Drives very well, no mechanical faults other than the reason it came my way....

It has burst a fluid pipe. quite easy to get to and only £60 from Citroen

It is generally tidy other than the rear wings which are rustier than any Xantia I have ever seen

The drivers side was due to a badly repaired scrape years ago and the passenger side one I was assured just needed a rub down. I disagreed. The hole is a result of me proving my point by poking it with my finger

It is in Ludlow on my trailer and cannot be driven as the fluid leak is quite bad

Will put it on ebay for £300 if nobody on here wants it. Or £200 + a bottle of your most local ale to any autoshiters who want

it.

Not online all the time and I don`t have a smart phone so call me on 07805 157 639

With a fully stamped service book might it not be worth getting some repair panels and sorting it properly? I'm sure a good number of shiters have undertaken way bigger jobs than that. Rust is the only thing that puts me off that really.

I didn't think the old xantia rotted out..

We have had 3 of them in the past and all of them have been superb motors..

The only bodywork issues I've ever had on them is crazing on the rear hatch after years of being out in the sun. That does look terminal.

That's where they go when they do go, I think it's about the only rust trap on the whole car.

Ive seen the inner wings go frilly and the strut tops, but thats about it. Mandy (MDY) has nothing in the rear quarters. Thats a BX trait, when they start going in the rear door shuts then you know its rusty as fook

I don't wanna sound like Ian Buzzkill over here, but £300 would buy you a pretty decent TD, prefacelift model with a bit of test on it that doesn't need totally reconstructing from papier mache or whatever. I like Xantias, but this thing deserves to be put out of its misery and bridged.

True but as DT said, the engine is worth about that on its own. Then again the £195 engine is usually out of the car and on a pallet waiting for delivery.

Say, if you were to break it, fancy putting the engine into a BX instead. I might have one that could suffice. I wonder if the gearbox could be persuaded in there too? Monies could be exchanged for such an adventure.

Just a thought, like.

/\

There's been the odd one kicking about in the last few months, they are in that stage where they're only just emerging from 'straight to scrap' to 'slightly desirable' so they are out there if you look.

Engines/boxes worth £195? Get me a contact number, please!

that doesn`t look like a particulary decent pre- facelift......  :)

I have sold loads of XUD 1.9  engines for between £150 and £200 dependant on mileage and spec , they are in quite high demand. Not just in the UK either, there is plenty of demand for them abroad

Being as this is one of the very last Xantia XUDs built they also have an extra high spec internally and are in demand with modifiers ( a small amount of people admittedly) Can`t quite remember what exactly, possible something ceramic??????

I tell it like it is, no flies from bullshit on me

Fuckloads of horseflies about yesterday though, the bastards :(

People are strange

You will fuck about travelling the length of the country getting shite

You will fix all sorts of mechanical issues

But are frightened of a bit of rust and some welding that wouldn`t be a big deal on an Escort or something

Pansies

Anyway, its not for sale any more. My Scenic died yesterday, need a family car ASAP and this will do the job in an interesting way.

New pipe, £60 and a small bit of bodywork and I`ve got myself a tidy Xantia

Seen and done worse Fiestas / KAs

Xantia saved :)

wel

People aren't strange, they just know their stuff more than you're giving them credit for by the looks of things.

People are really really strange on here, myself included or I wouldn`t be here...

This is Autoshite, none of us are normal

Most of my comments were tongue in cheek anyway....
