reallyloud
Snappy title huh? I bought a couple of books from a charity shop the other day, one of which was called '4-wheel drive'. I was expecting it to be full of American jeeps, Toyotas and Land Rovers, but was chock-a-bloc full of car derived 4x4 and oddities. It was published just as the 4wd fad took off in 1985. Not much point in scanning the pages in as I can't be bothered, but I googled some of the vehicles. The other book was a book of prototype and obscure BR diesel/electic trains! The Dangel Pug 504/505 and Alfa 33 4x4 (both are probabily familiar with you guys) are in the book but also featured these: Never knew this one existed. 1983 Passat Tetra - surely this VW should have been imported here? Peugeot P4 - rebadged G-Wagen Citroen FAF - Dyane derived mainly for the thrid world markets. Visa milles pistes or chrono. It was the first of the mainstream hatchbacks to incorporate a 4 wheel drive system. Both Audi and Subaru get lots of credit for bringing 4WD to the masses, but Citroen played a massive part too. Odd that Citroen no longer bothers with it.
