hope its alright to put adverts here, cant find a specific section!

Ok, for sale from the Daveyboy20 household is a wonderfully retro Corolla! She is called Doreen as she looks almost EXACTLY like a Delorean. Doreen is my girlfriends car and has been absolutely brilliant.

She has been in daily driving operation with us for about 2 years and taken us all over the place. Up and down the country and to and from work every day. We've even been down to the Pod in her to the retro show. We have done loads of miles in her, its had a few dodgy moments (mostly electrical due to previous owners 'bodges') but we've always sorted her out, she's been serviced when she's needed it too. As you can see she is ripe for retro mods, slam, roofrack, black and white checkered roof, cherry bomb - it would look class!!

Girlfriend went away for a week and me and my mate pimped Doreen slightly - de striped, de badged grill, new plates, j-style square plate at the front and a few other little bits.

She recently passed her MOT after approximately £300 worth of welding and a new rear shocker (plus they took out our orange sidelights ! )

The brakes squeal she probably needs new pads but stops fine, there is a blow in the exhaust but only the join between backbox and middlebox which actually sounds pretty cool but can be bodged easily with some paste. Or made into a side exit pee easy! Other than that she's good go really. Obviously shes a bit tatty and been well used, the clock reads 170 000 but I know its had a new engine.

The engine is awesome, its a little 1.3 (70 bhp!) with an auto choke carb, gets 320 miles AROUND TOWN to a full tank (about 30 litres) no matter how shes driven, loads more on a run! The engine starts almost instantly, flick the key and about half a second later shes running, even now when there was so much frost on it and ice on the floor I couldnt stand up on the road to unlock the door through slipping around, put the key in 'flick VRRRRRRRR' awesome! Puts my capri to shame. The auto choke is a little sticky but a blip of the throttle about 2 minutes after starting and the idle settles back down nicely. One thing I will say is that the heater takes its time to warm up and clearing the screen can be a bit of a pain at first but 10 - 15 minutes down the road and its hunky dory. The drivers window mechanism is dodgy and needs sorting, this happened last week, not stripped the card off yet to investigate, just don't open the window and its fine!!

Oh and classic insurance got quoted £150 fully comp for the year!! Seeing as she's well taxed and tested and cost over £400 to get through the MOT recently coz of the welding (all done now obviously) plus the tax I rckon £250 o.n.o is a fair price - cracking first retro and ripe for moddin!
