ruffgeezer
Alongside the Hillman Hunter I posted about recently is this rather handsome devil; As it stands, it's been unused since late last year, but last weekend we charged the battery and got it up and running once more. This is the owner's post to the Wolseley Club: I recently inherited a Wolseley 15/50 which I inherited from my Late Father. Its a lovely car but I'm not a mechanical person and therefore I need to find a new home for it. It has had two previous owners who used it relatively little. It's mileage is only 32475 miles. As a result it is relatively original and it has a pleasantly authentic 1950s feel to it. Until he became ill last year my Father would take it for short drives in the countryside. Currently the car starts and runs and the body work is relatively good. Its not perfect but it is a car that you could run and enjoy now.I have advertised it for £ 2500 but I'm open to reasonable offers. If you're interested or you'd like to know more your most welcome to contact me. I will add that from what I have seen, there is a bit of grot at the base of the front wings, along with lifting of the paint on the wing tops, really it would need for you to come and have a look to make up your own minds as with this age of vehicle, condition is largely in the eye of the beholder. Mechanically I don't think you'd have any worries further then the usual dramas of something this age. It just really depends on if you want a car that is 100% cosmetically too. This one isn't, but there isn't much I've seen on it that would stop you using it. Cavcraft, Sudsprint, Skizzer and 8 others
The Reverend Bluejeans
I'd love to meet the BMC exec who thought the Farina was a better car in any way, shape or form than the Palmer Wolseleys and MG's. Such good looking cars. mercrocker, Angrydicky, saucedoctor and 3 others
forddeliveryboy
Very nice. Riding in that must be a little like going to church - a slightly upmarket CofE one. Sudsprint

Andrew353w
That's lovely! I hope the little Wolseley light on the radiator grille works and the police bell is really loud (sorry, but I'm watching "The Blue Lamp" on London Live at the moment!) Weren't all police cars Wolseleys in the 1950s, or is that just my rose-tinted spectacles?

Such good looking cars. Too bloody right. The MGs in particular are easily the prettiest saloons of the 1950s. dugong
Angrydicky
Ooooh, that is right up my street. Wish I was able to add another car to the fleet, because it looks wonderful.

cros
I've driven the similar Magnette quite a bit and add that these are very nice usable cars, far better than the Minor based 1500 replacement. B engine means easy parts. Steering is very good for a car of this era, rust is the enemy. I drive something like this every day and never wish I had a modern car, are you bored yet? alf892
castros_bro
For years I used to bimble about in this car's baby brother a 4/44 which I bought when i was 44, by bimble I mean slowly wind up speed to and from work from here to Holland, France and Germany and back. It had about the same performance as an old NA XUD and brakes which work except for the poxy umbrella parking brake. cros
ruffgeezer
Ok so I went and got the Hunter started today, but also discovered this under the rear valance of the Wolseley... This is the worst bit of the car that I've seen. The paint is lifting on the trailing edge of the boot: The sill areas are ok, but I would say they need some more protection soon. Squire_Dawson
I believe the police used the bigger 6/90 models and Humbers. Films of the period are full of them as police cars. Very nice motors.

ruffgeezer
Well I've had one or two enquiries but if nothing happens I am hoping to chuck it on my trade policy and take it to a local show next month.
