JohnK
This looks an absolute peach for somebody. Those wheel trims are so 1998 as well. Good luck with the sale - not that you will need it though.

Mr_Bo11ox
Yes 1.4 16v K-bomb, although its got the much less meltdown-prone early closed deck engine.
mercedade
I know that this is the exact opposite of buying your car, but I saw this and thought of you... http://rover800.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=13237&p=131664#p131664 solid61
fordperv
I love the look of the 3 door, I had a silver one when I was 19 and loved it, couldn't bear to get rid of it as it was great so my dad used it when I got another car and it ended up having the dreaded hgf, i was gutted. Now I've bored you glwts
Partridge
Bugger me, that's a tidy little thing. Looks more like it's three years old.
HMC
Thats one now rare little R8 variant, and valu for one thats been and had the professor-K bollox treatment. my old R8 was lovely, but its sills probably stopped looking minty fresh like that in about 2001. Guest Lord Sward
Nice that. Do these have the k-bomb? No, not really. As previously mentioned this one is a closed deck head.It should also have an alloy inlet manifold for extra durability. It will also have been made from virgin bauxite (?) aluminium and not recycled cans. All in all, a terriffic engines, especially since it should be multipoint injection. Mr_Bo11ox
It does have an alloy manifold, but is single point injection. Could you ever get a closed deck multipoint? I thought the mpi came in as the early block was phased out.
Guest Lord Sward
There was a very, very brief period, before airbags, but with a key operated alarm system when MPI was mated to original K-series. Shep Shepherd
Shep Shepherd
^My 214Si was from that period. L913 OWG, where are you now?
Mr_Bo11ox
wow thats a rare one then. Must be the best K-series combo possible!!! for longevity anyway. Shep Shepherd
Guest Lord Sward
wow thats a rare one then. Must be the best K-series combo possible!!! for longevity anyway. They are an absolute peach of an engine. Stronger and more refined then any K-series before or since (excludes 8valves). First debuted in the Caterham, then the 2nd Metro GTi before finally going into 200/400. I think the Cabriolet was the first 200 to receive it, but could be wrong there. Shep Shepherd
Shep Shepherd
wow thats a rare one then. Must be the best K-series combo possible!!! for longevity anyway. It was a good car until I hydrolocked its engine after driving into a flood during the early hours of New Year's Eve 2002; it never felt the same after the engine rebuild. Hence The Volvo... KruJoe
You've probably got that special engine as a spare from the sawn-off then, Mr_B.That was on an 'L', no-fob alarm, pre-airbags, 1.4MPI.
Mr_Bo11ox
Oooohhh!!! K-series gold!!!! I shall make sure it is not wasted
Honey Badger
lovely wee thing that, 3 door R8s always looked the bollocks. I'm in a quandary now, I'd like my Accord coupe to pass its mot next week, but if it doesn't I could buy a car worked on by the K series whisperer. Can't see this hanging round for long. Mr_Bo11ox
I havent interfered with the K-series on this one mind you!!! Apart from chucking a cambelt on it.
Vince70
That's one lovely car at a bargain price especially with the amount of work and time you've put into it to get it A1.I wish I was looking for another car. I can't see it hanging around for long and hope it goes to someone who appreciates all the hard work you've put into it.
