I thought it was a bit steep for £200...

Wow. I sold my last one for £1300 and now can't find one as nice for less than £2500.

I have seen cheap ones about but they are always too far away.

I certainly would have paid £200 for yours. What's wrong with it apart from the obvious?

It's a bit rough around the edges and there's a crease in the drivers door but other than that it seems ok, I'm hoping to get it in for an mot at some point but there's lots of other cars to get to first so I'll probably leave it to the side for now.

I think I'm going to have to stop buying cars, I seem to have a lot of stuff to work through.

Bikes on the other hand?

Darn Scott, it needs a bizarrely made wooden knob, that is part of it's shitestory

Oh, I'll turn one on a lathe and make it look like a massive throbbing cock, then it can be the cock van instead or I'll put a normal looking gear knob on it and improve it by removing all of the pikey looking vinyl, weld it, paint it and replace all of the rusty panels and I'll give it a new name like CUNTVAN or something.

Delicate times.

The 'pikey vinyl' was on it before my tenure; it belonged to Alda Motors of Huntingdon which used it as a recovery van, hence the reflective stripes and shite beacon.

I've no idea how many times it had been resprayed. A lot, and in a hurry would be my guess.

I kept the knob because I reckoned you'd have lobbed it in the bin as it was fucking horrible to use; it had sentimental value so I took it off.  It was a working vehicle to me but with you it'll gain a good few years back on the road.

You're right, I would have removed it and fitted something a bit more usable. Thankfully the van never came with any wheel trims which would have caused more upset when I got rid...

Anyway, I had a bit of a crap weekend and didn't seem to get a lot of things done, it started on Friday with me loading up the Polo full of spares and heading north.

24183920728_78a53f302f_c.jpgDSC_0245 by srblythe, on Flickr

I had seen someone on one of the Polo groups offering a 360 glt to swap for a Polo so I offered mine up, although I did enjoy the Polo it is quite small and I thought the Volvo might be more fun.

3.5 hours later I'm up in a place called Keith where the Volvo is kept, the owner was reluctant to meet halfway or even an hour away so I was sceptical about the Volvo making it back under its own steam and I joked with Mrs foad that I should maybe bring some blankets for when it broke down.

It was dark by the time I got there so keen to get going I swapped all my stuff into the Volvo and head off, I thought it was worth stopping for petrol for the return journey so drove the car to the nearest petrol station which can't have been any more than 2 miles away.

I filled the tank then jumped back into the car, it fired up then died.

I went into the garage and bought some easy start and whipped off the air intake, sprayed some in and it briefly stuttered to life before dying a few seconds later.

I decided then that it was a fueling issue and used the AA app on my phone to report a breakdown, an hour later the first guy comes out, checks some stuff with the multimeter to conclude that the pump is knackered. I tell him I have another pump at home in Dunfermline so he suggests we have the car recovered to his garage in Keith (he was subcontracting for the AA) and then I go back to Dunfermline get my pump, come back and he would fit it for me no doubt charging me for it, I was like: Fuck off! How about we use my AA cover to have the car transported home where I can fix it myself free off charge, he said he would try and find a driver and fucked off.

Another hour or so passes and this mildly annoying Polish AA man turns up and loads it up, he said he must have a break so drives to Strachathro services which is halfway between Dundee and Aberdeen then takes a 45 break, I was shattered by this point and fell asleep for the remainder of the journey to Dundee where he drops me off with another driver who loads the car onto his old Transit with Ninewells garage written along the side of it.

This guy is relatively easy to get on with and thinks it's ridiculous that the AA guy had to take a break, he says he had been working since 12 with no breaks and does a speedy job of getting me home withing 45 mins. I gave that guy a tip.

Saturday I A-framed the 360 to the unit.

I had it up on the ramp and found that there's a fuel filter missing between the pump and the tank.

I borrowed the filter from the other 360 then fitted the new pump and it fired to life, I found that the relay was also faulty and primed the pump constantly so I borrowed the relay from the other car and it sorted it. There's a bad knocking sound coming from the passenger side suspension so that needs looked at before I can really use the car.

Sunday saw me changing the shocks on Mrs foads 190E

and picking up another 190 for £200

I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing with it but I couldn't resist at such a bargain price.

And lastly on Sunday night this Yamaha XT 350 turned up

I had been offered it in a trade for my unroadworthy Ranger 2wd with cracked cylinder head so thought the bike might be more fun and take up a bit less space.

The 940 2.3 LPT seems to go ok, it needs a new headunit/radio so I can drown out the random noises the car makes so if anyone has one the please get in touch.

The 190e in the daylight today.

It needs a new rear silencer which is included and it's missing the airbox. Other than that I'm not sure what else it will need, I'm keen to get it in for a test and take it from there.

The 360 is a little bit low and I peeled off most of the stickers as soon as it got here. It needs a ball joint replaced and it to be de-twatted by raising it to standard height and getting some decent GLT alloys on it.
