Mine was pretty dead when I got it (it had been out in the weather for years), but I got it going after a while - then again restoring electronic tech from that era is one of my other hobbies which is part of the reason I grabbed the thing in the first place really.

Note that a lot of the functions need the coil clip connected up to function as it uses the waveform detected there as the timing reference for pretty much *everything* - have never seen one in person with the CO function but wouldn't be surprised if it was true for that too.

Our one (the one you're referring to) doesn't really work. We couldn't really get it to do anything, I was particularly interested in the CO reader but again, it doesn't do anything!

Timing light and voltage meter works.

Ah fair enough, fairly pointless if you've got a timing light and a multimeter like we do though haha.

Good news I hope, the bargain 123 barge should be back with 12 months mot at the end of the week, the ball joint and brake lines have been done and my tame mechanic is just waiting on a replacement brake caliper coming before getting it in for its retest.
I had considered doing the brakes and ball joint myself but after looking at how much of a ball ache it would be I decided to farm it out to someone who knows what he's doing.
I think the car will owe me about £750 when it comes back which is still a good deal for a w123 with a year's ticket... 503c889af8bd5627c728d3016565a08d.jpg

I've covered over 500 miles in this since the mot.

I think it's one of the best cars I've ever bought and definitely a keeper.

Just been catching up, and as a fellow 305 owner, that looks a very fine steed indeed.

Nice one Mr, FOAD.

I've chucked this on gumtree and car and classic at a much inflated price. Now that it's passed its mot I can't decide whether to keep it and spend some more money on it improving it or whether to sell it and buy something else. I'm hoping I can make enough to buy a Peugeot 505.

It still needs a pair of front wings, lower valance, the rear arch tidied up and painted and probably a few other bits and bobs. It drives reasonably well and the brakes are sharp.
