ruffgeezer
Guy I know lost his father late last year, amongst other things he has a very sorry looking hunter on the drive along with a few spares, realistically it's probably beyond redemption, however it would probably yield some useful spares. Is anyone on the shite radar on board with one of these? I imagine perhaps he'd like to relive his childhood memories with a ride in one, if his late father's car cannot be salvaged. Jim Bell
Nomad on RR has a beat up Dailly. Unfortunately, though a thoroughly good egg, he's up near me. Probably geographically unreasonable.

ruffgeezer
Bump for pictures, it's been off the road since 2008 we believe, we haven't attempted to start it again yet. Cavcraft

ruffgeezer
I think the pictures and colour flatter it somewhat, but I'm hopeful that we can get it running again if nothing else. eddyramrod
Wilko220
Wilko220 has a Humber Sceptre. I'd be keen on it as a spares car / long term project if it was going for sensible money - but I think the cost of transportation from Ruffgeezer's part of beautiful Lincolnshire down to my part of shite Hertfordshire would rule it out tbh. lovejoy
Paykan Hunter is probably drooling over it right now - sent it over to him !
ruffgeezer
Probate valued it at £3-400 but I imagine there will be some movement in that, we are hoping to try and start it again soon, there are also a bunch of spares knocking about that I'm sure he'd be happy to add in. eddyramrod
TagoraSX
Any cracks in the dashboard? what spares does he have?
ruffgeezer
I didn't notice any cracks, there is a spare speedo, a few panels (not sure if they are any good mind!) a Chrysler badged grille and probably more, we haven't sorted any of it out yet! CortinaDave
Looks save able enough. Shame you're the arse end of the country from me!
AnthonyG
I was expecting something you'd need to sweep up with a dustpan and brush. That just looks like an average Hunter circa 1982! R is almost late reg plate madness, although I've seen S plate ones as well. If it's badged as a Chrysler it's most likely assembled in Ireland, and I think they stopped building them in late '77 or 78. RichardK
ruffgeezer
This one is a Hillman, the one before it was Chrysler badged...
Richard
I've seen a few T platers.
AnthonyG
That probably counts in its favour as I don't think Dublin built cars were very well built, it really was just a CKD kit assembly operation. The paint plant was reputedly very primitive even for the 1970s.

eddyramrod
+1 on that, show us how bad it is! I've had three (older) including a Sceptre, I think they're grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!
ruffgeezer
These are some more pictures the owner sent me this week, I will be attending on Sunday to see if we can get her to fire up. RichardK
That really doesn't look that bad. The battery tray is still tray-shaped.
