Lets all meet up in the....

year 2000 Corsa 1.2SXi

MOT 28th May

Taxed to get you home

Surprisingly good runner

Swish being the SXi as has sporty (LOL!) interior, central locking, alloy wheels AND electric mirrors.

But no power steering. Go figure, as the sceptics say.

Erm, it's in Arden blue BEST COLOUR.

Clear rear lights (bring normal ones and a hammer)

Dent in boot, rear towing eye cover missing (probably been used to drag Previas!) EML on (was an advisory on last MOT and car runs great) and the speedo doesn't work. I use a free speedo iPhone app thing. My lad said it looks like it's attached but could be the sensor. Fuck knows. Oh, fan comes on all the time with ignition.

More pictures to follow.

£244, cash on collection from Chester.

Surprise, surprise (advertised elsewhere) I have a genuine offer of an iPhone 4 which was then upped to include a f*****g XBOX. And someone else definitely wants it but can't come 'til Saturday or something' and says he'll give me a deposit now by Paypal. But if he doesn't want the car, he wants his deposit refunded. You can probably guess the response.

A fucked-over Corsa, a bargain price,

Bright blue and alloys, it once looked quite nice.

Rescued from an illiterate mouth breather...

Your daughter doesn't want it? I don't either!

Once again at Billy's green garage doors

Bring a hammer and lights, two-fourty and it's yours

Oh, and one more thing, he should have said -

A big brown paper bag to wear on your head!

Before I go on the direct line website, anyone want to guess the size of quote for a 19 year old who passed her test in November 2013 at aged 17?

Looks like fun.........1400?

Will be interesting to see as Miss Alf passed her test 2 years ago in an older one of these and the first year was 1200

£2,174

That's what they wanted when we added her as a named driver at 17 to a BINI cooper.

This would be her own insurance with wife as named driver.

Mainly for use in the 20 weeks holidays she seems to have.

Got to be cheaper than adding her to BINI again just for the summer.

I've just read up about the non-working speedo. Says to check the fuse for the cig lighter. Apparently this fuse also does something with the speedo? It's fuse 17 (10A) - also check fuse 18 (20A) if they keep blowing when replaced then disconnect cig lighter wiring. Might be something inside the lighter that's shorting the fuse if that all makes sense.

Cheers, I'll have a look at that later. The lad who had the lights was cooing over the alloys, so I suggested he could give me his steels plus cash (I didn't mention a price, but £50 will do it) which got me wondering if I swapped other standard bits plus cash for the SXi stuff (like interior) etc, I reckon I wouldn't need to do too much so the car became free!

I went to look at this, and it's pretty much as Billy has described, but I decided that a) my daughter would cry (a lot), B) that would be 5 cars between 4 people. and c) I haven't really got the time to devote.

It could be a really okay car. Set of seat covers, and a service, and it'd be great. I'd say the money he wants is a bit cheap really.
