Bad Vitesse!

What happened to the silver Metro? There's a Rover where it used to sit.

After the head gasket was fixed I sold it because I have the 114 SLi and the MG Metro MK1 on the way.

I would like to visit 2CV Rugby but driving a 2CV all weekend is hard work and it is likely to be 250 miles. I like my Visa can't somebody else younger and fitter drive my 2CV?

Nice to know other fellows are having fun. Went to see a Dyane but it was very patched up. Other cars ZX rear end out to sort Seized suspension. Thanks Six Cylinder for planting advice & now have a second ZX helping to taking the strain.

So is your Visa still running?

I was thinking of a tax free Dyane but the one I was after has failed its MOT badley. When it is sorted I will consider again but instead of my 2CV which has a fresh MOT with little trouble.

Another reason I backed off from the Dyane was it seemed quite crammed my knees were near my ears ,more so than a normal 2CV,

The Visa is due its MOT very soon but is still running after MOT time going to sort bonnet , engine. the C15 seats have been removed & the little thing has new tyres & track rod ends in lieu of MOOOOTTT

Another bad day, I took my Oltcit over to the garage who are going to have it MOTed for me today. As I got close I felt the brakes binding but the car still drove so I did the last 2 miles and was pleased to park up because you could now smell the brakes and they had smoke coming off them. I went to talk to the garage and the Oltcit burst into flames! A fire extinguisher job and it has done a fair amount of damage, usual stuff like HT leads, wires, CV boot but also the plastic heater casing that sit just above the inboard front brakes.

That's what you get for being rude about 2CVs!

Seriously though, glad it wasn't any worse. Brakes can get VERY hot. I'd never chance it myself - hence why we stripped the caliper roadside in the Daimler before I chanced driving it home.

Today's car mission was a little less glamorous as I have driven our C15 van 260 miles to collect a tailgate for the Xantia that has a broken tailgate glass.

Did that come from Somerset by any chance? If it did, I think the brake light is on mine...

Also, just got to the end of the thread. Shit, sorry.

It did come from Somerset, but I did not see a problem as I have my brake light to fit.

Poor Oltcit! I do hope it can be saved as I can't imagine it being the easiest thing to get parts for although the engine is the same as a GS isn't it?

What an arse of a thing to happen!
Soon have it running again, heater box not required for mot or vital for summer only use.

Anyway, I think the LNA looks great without the front bumper.

I can't like this. Extremely Bad Lick Sir . Was it fuel or electrical ? I'm upset tooooooo as some clown has keyed the bonnet of my new ZX while it was parked at work! And I thought it was safe parking at my work security gates & cameras, apparently the Big Brother cameras are not working.

News from the fighting Front!

Yesterday I visited the Oltcit and it looks worse than I remember. The only bright bit of news for it is I have made contact with someone who might have some spares.

Today it has been fun in the field dodging the rain. In spite of the heavy rain showers we made progress on the Visa GT as we removed the fuel tank as a step closer to getting it welded.

The Spitfire 6 received attention from quicksilver and dad refitting the cleaned and painted fuel tank. New clutch master cylinder fitted and bled. The engine was restarted and brakes freed up. In my time with the Spitfire 6 it got its first run under its own power this afternoon.

The MG ZR has now spent 4 days in the field with no electricity, the equivalent of the naughty step for a car and has learnt its lesson and the immobilizer behaved perfectly today.

Todays fettling was only given the green light this morning because of the poor weather forecast, I will try and give more notice of the next open field day in case anybody wants to come along and witness the events taking place.
