Can I just say THIS is a f****ng heavy bike to push. VVVV
15941398_709425549245685_831262105913394
Conked out of petrol coming out of RPH this evening ( smiley-talk034.gifItalian 'lectrics ) - the fuel gauge is stuck at just over a quarter full - pushed the bloody thing two miles because I forgot about the Texaco station on Blackpool Rd. - now with the tank brimming the fuel gauge is still reading a quarter full  :-\ New job started today - brain a bit addled with the new patient software that I have about a month to get my head around.

So I took the newly acquired ZX6-R for a blat and found it a bit flat.... Im not convinced its really a ZX6-R but the stickers say it is and the Gumtree seller wouldn't rip me off would he? ;)

Thanks to Bub2006 deliveries - it looks utterly lost in that van doesnt it - hope the weather wasnt too unkind to you on the way back.

Yes weather got a bit hairy. I can't remember this road name, only about 20 ish mile from you. It was drizzling on the bypass near Walton Le date then when I came off further on, as I came off the island the heavens opened. Cleared a bit then opened again coming up to Buxton

Came out of work at 12pm - fired up OK, going down the M6 I noticed the red LED was on solid and unblinking.
Odd, but the bike was running fine.
Pulled up at work (II) some 20 miles away and LED winking as normal when switched off. Four hours later I came out of work and the bike wont fire up...

(Clicky video linky)

Cue much swearing, cursing and jiggling of the blue key.

Same happens if I use the brown master key.

Three hours later and the recovery man arrived

Now if (as the owners forum seems to suggest) the immobiliser is fooked then the only solution is a new paired ECU, Transponder receiver unit, master key, lock and slave key. Plus labour to fit.
Given that second hand sets are like rocking horse poo - Im looking at the fat end of £600 for all that lot. This means the bike is effectively scrap.
I cant believe that the bike can be junked over a little silver box. What utter utter shite :(

Can't you just get a demobilised ecu/coil pack like you could one the old speedfight? Guess this is too advanced. Tommy called in to do the duty for work?

Sadly not for the "master" engine - but yes you ca for the 125cc and 200cc "leader" engines.

Annoying.

Knowing nowt of Piagios could you not lash a megajolt or Nodiz system onto it?

Edit does this fine piece of shite run injection or a carb? Injection would need a megasquirt but I bet given some time and patience you could get it running with the CDI from something else if it's carbs?

Fuel injected too I guess?
If carb it would be easy to run a bodged killswitch to another cdi to the plug

Need to get the throttle on the Tomos sorted ( wrong cable - too tight, so revving its arse off) and get it MOT'd

The spare is the old one by the looks of it and the throttle end is frayed - I havent seen whether or not its salvageable - I mean, if its totally fubar I can use some baler twine as a temp measure.
