1997 R Citroen ZX 1.9 Turbo D SX Deal done, going soon.

Decided that I'm just not feeling the love with this car, so I'm going to let it go. R reg ZX turbo D. MOT to June this year, get you home tax. 130,000 miles. Standard fit radio/cassette.Electric sunroof. Drives very well and starts first time every time due to the new glow plugs I fitted last month. Has towbar with twin electrics, although I've never used it, so don't know if the electrics work. It's solid on the body, but has a couple of knocks and has scuffs on the bumper corners.

Bad Bits

Passenger electric window doesn't work. I've disconnected the switch because it would only open and not close. I hard wired the motor to close the window and it works both ways, so it's probably the switch or a broken wire.

Central locking doesn't lock the drivers door, but it locks everything else from the remote. I've just locked the drivers door with the key after I've plipped it.

Drivers door takes a good slam to close. For some reason, the hinge pins have been replaced with thick bolts and I think the door has dropped slightly because of this. I've just got used to it.

Has an oil leak, either from sump or end crankshaft seal. I have a sump gasket to go with it, but have never got round to fitting it.

Good bits

Drives VERY well.

Good on juice

Excellent starter, and has been 100% reliable.

Uses no water.

Towbar for A-framing adventures

Autoshite dealer sticker and original delaer plates

The price? £275. Car located in Westhoughton, near Bolton. Can collect from rail station etc. Would defo swap/px for something sporty.

I have to say I prefer the ZX to the 306 by a metric shitload. I mentioned this to the missus this afternoon but she says I have too many heaps on the driveway (and my mother in laws driveway) at the moment to buy a WBOD.

It's SENSIBLE!!! Tell her how sensible it is!

Nice!

Swap for a volcane? Its slightly sporty if you ignore the clonking from the drivers side ball joint, and the dented wing adds to the aerodynamic, and makes salty spray make funny patterns down the door...

Didn't realise yours was a Volcane. Not really feeling diesel love, though. If it was a 16v, however........

Similarly DENIED :(

See above. SENSIBLE!!!

Trois questions

Une,  When was the cammo belt last changed (if known) ?

Zwei. How serious is the oil leak (if known) ?

ثلاثة  Is the back "axle" in fine fettle (if known) ?

чõтырõ  Does your emporium run a "buy back" scheme where a finely abused vehicle can be returned after a few months for a cash refund ?

I think I want to buy this as my 106 is a bit too small to carry a dismantled motocycle + two people + two matrasses, can I have till Monday to find/borrow the money and decide?  Will send PM later.

Jesus Christ, you don't want much for £275, do you?

These are very important questions for a ZX Diesel:

An oil leak on one of mine turned out to be from the head gasket

Four new rear bushes cost a fortune to have fitted.

I lost my last ZX TD hatch because of a broken cambelt.

I think he's saying, get the cambelt done yourself, it's a fugging £275 car.

Let me explain, presently the zx TD is 250 miles away, I have two weeks till the ferry booking then a 1000miles drive, I am not asking anyone to change a belt/seal/mounts but would like to know if the present owner has

and/or would be willing to dilvulge the information.
