OMGWOW!

It's just like the one we ran around in a few years a go but not fucked, that's a honey! Properly fun combo.

A scally somewhere en route to the up north asked us 'does it spin' - after this challenge was set, a Rover P4 did a burnout in a McDonalds car park and grey haired men across the country had heart palpitations.

The nice man at the border said I had to have it in order to enter his country, that will be 44 euros. No possibility to opt out however far you intend to travel or on what roads. He got quite angry when I tried to drive off without it....

Were you entering on a motorway? I've done much border-crossing in my 2CV at the Franso-Swiss changeover with no problems at all. Didn't pay for a vignette as I had no intention of driving on Swiss motorways.

I should have picked a quieter crossing then- German friends tell me that its hard to avoid having to buy one on their side at least.

Yep, you can avoid the vignette nazis if you enter the country via A road, or at unwholesome times of day.
