I think you're more likely to sell on RR than here, nothing sells in January anyway unless it's uber cheap, I'm not even bothering to advertise my Starion until March.

Don't put un needed information and countless photos in the advert though, it looks like you're an enthusiast adding scene tax into it and it puts people off. Don't get impatient, I've had cars for sale for nearly a year. :)

I occasionally get the whiff of there being an 'inner sanctum' on here.

I don't know about that, but I do know that usually there's a reason motors don't sell quickly, and that's price. You might think its a good deal, I might think its a good deal, but that doesn't mean everyone with money does.

It's a bit of a specialist job because it's cracking little thing BUT...how many people 'need' it or hanker after it? The market is pretty limited so (IMHO) you're in for the long haul selling it. It's worth the money (or as near as) but it was always going to take a while to sell. I've got a push bike here that's the same, probably worth £1200 but the target audience is probably about three people in Europe, so it's going to take forever to sell.

Excatly this. It took months to sell the DAF the other year and the Lancia took even longer. Both were probably fairly priced but it was finding someone who wanted them (that wasn't t total tit).

I'm not sure about the price reasoning, because I think it's well worth it's money. But it's bang on about having to wait a while for the right buyer. Took me the best part of 12 months to sell the Celica, just bumping it up car and classic every month or so. Helped that I was in no rush to sell, though.

The way I see AS, as a selling medium, is it's just one of many free resources available. The car might appeal to someone on here. It might not. Same as anywhere else, the only difference being the size of the audience, which is obviously quite small. I certainly wouldn't take it personally, though, Jon, there aren't many on here who can combine the want of a rare small car and the means to buy, and I think it's just the same anywhere.

I'd try R-R, CCW and car and classic for the free stuff. There will be someone out there for this car, it'll just take longer to find them.

If this was a 1 Litre TD and Trigger or Dollywobbler owned it, I would DEFINATELY buy it, spend a grand on it, then crash it.

As none of those things are true, I'll have to allow someone else the unbridled pleasure of ownership.

Worth an ad on carandclassic mate. Its free and there seem to be a more mature and capital rich audience than ebay of bumtree.

Worth a shot. Its certainly not overpriced, just need to find a buyer.

I think I get what your on about,

I put it down to groups from different areas who appear to know each other and while talking to each other may give of that appearance,  or I may be reading that wrong too

Perception is a funny thing, AS must be the only forum I know of where there ISN'T a clique or "inner sanctum", that's just how I see it mind.

+1

Everyone gets flamed/supported/liked/told to GTF as their post deserves! Clique or inner sanctum? Nah. This is AS. Hardly Opus Dei or The Masons. (Other cliques may apply)
