Sloth in a bowl
Old Kent and East Sussex Light Railway jobbie, two buses back to back, but a bit more rail specific on the construction than most. forddeliveryboy
BavarianRetro
I remember seeing a Unimog with rail wheels that looked like it could drive on Tarmac up to the railway, engage the rail wheels and then drive on track. It was at the Scottish Motor Show at the Kelvin Hall in about 1974/75 and it was the only thing that stood out.

Inspector Morose
This converted railcar was once Great Northern Railway (Ireland) Co Ltd (GNR(I)) bus - AEC Regal IV - new in May 1956. It had a Park Royal dual purpose body and seated 40. It carried Reg No ZY 1715. In Oct 1958 it passed to Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ) as AU345. It was withdrawn about 1973 and acquired by Bord na Móna to be converted as a railcar.
Junkman
Drauz SchiStra (Schiene/Straße - rail/street) bus for the DB: Altogether 55 were built, but only 15 of them were ever used on rails. The one with the Bochum plates is the only remaining example. forddeliveryboy
Junkman
Schiene-Straße bus in Essen today: They are operated on the tramlines, and former tramlines, where applicable. However, they are to be phased out soon. brickwall
Junkman
The buses are actually railed, so no steering input of the driver is required, but yes, they roll along on the planks with their road wheels. Rail buses are not draisines anyway, so this thread has derailed (oh, the pun!) quite a while ago. dugong and forddeliveryboy

Junkman
There is an annual draisine race on the narrow gauge railway in Vienna's Prater. As usual in .at, it's a "cultural event", which means, there is a beer tent. The rules are simple. Build a draisine, get plastered, and race it. Inspector Morose, John F and forddeliveryboy
