Guest
Vicsmith is pondering the respray of his Chrysler as it has been resprayed from its original colour (a weird bronze) to some sort of orangey red, which isn't too bad as it looks like the car from Duel, but it could be improved really. The only thing is, neither of us are sure of the full complement of colours available and their names. Does anyone have any documentation, brochures etc. that might have a bit of info? Would be appreciated if you could scan it up or whatever. This looks pretty neat!
seth
Some old brochures on here: http://www.rootes-chrysler.co.uk/index.html Through which I found a link to here: http://pentastar.free.fr/Chrysler.htm Might be good for someone with more French than me? pogweasel
'wierd bronze' sounds a spot-on colour for obscure champions-league shite to me.
Ratdat
'wierd bronze' sounds a spot-on colour for obscure champions-league shite to me.Agreed, an obscure colour is what's needed. The 1/43 model I have is in that kind of colour. Sort of an orangey bronze metallic.
Mr_Bo11ox
I too vote for reinstating the original colour, then when you open the boot or bonnet it won't look like a shonky blowover job.
Ratdat
Yeah, that's a pet hate of mine. I wouldn't change the colour of a car unless I could do all of it. A different colour under the bonnet always look shoddy.
Guest
Problem is that the engine bay and other areas already are already painted black with Schutz or something. The only trace of the original colour is a bit under the window rubbers and on where the wings bolt on, so it might as well be resprayed into anything now. Spottedlaurel
Will the interior colour lead him to exclude some options? Not that such considerations really mattered in the '70s.Anyway, I'd stick with orangey red but paint a big 01 on the doors and one of those lovely Confederate flags on the roof. Yee, and indeed, hah.

Mr Average
Not a lot of help I know bsut imagine the colour was similar to that sported by these Wolseley 18/22. Which I'm sure is Reynard metallic.

carlo
This is a great site for old car colour charts, although I can't see Chrysler UK at this stage. http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/

Not that such considerations really mattered in the '70s.Dunno, it's a dark-ish brown interior, probably goes with anything really. Realised today that it's one of the ones produced in Spain by Chrysler España.Incidentally if you're wondering where Vicsmith has gone and why I'm asking this on his behalf, he has been incarcerated for stealing from a What The Butler Saw machine and as such does not have the Internet at this time.
