purplebargeken
It is with a very heavy heart that I have to put my MGF up for sale as driving it causes me significant back and leg pain now. I drove her to Warwickshire today and she didn't put a foot wrong. I was however somewhat crippled. She is is BRG (code is HAM), she has the typical VVC half leather/half cloth seats with black leather door cards. The interior is tidy but the binnacle cover has 2 cracks in it. I have a pair of TF seats if wanted instead. She has just under 63,500 miles on the clock and runs lovely. She had an oil and filter change a couple of hundred miles back and the belts, pulley, thermostat and alternator belt done in the summer by a well respected MG specialist, this cost me a tad over £300 but was well worth doing as I had no history with the car. The alloys are good, the exhaust, gearbox and suspension are fine. Everything works and works well (oh, apart from the A/C which I think is kind of ridiculous anyway). The MOT is due up next month but I will put a full MOT on the car anyway. It will need a couple of tyres (which I already have). The front bumper has a crack in it but I have a good replacement in the correct colour that will come with the car. The car has the all important 52mm throttle body and a cone filter and it does make it more fun to drive. The car will drive anywhere and the water temp and oil temp readings are rock steady in the correct positions on the dials. Coolant levels haven't budged whatsoever since I bought her nearly a year ago. She is a pre-Project Drive car so she has the twin horns and EPAS. Soft top doesn't leak but could do with a clean. This is such an ace car to drive. Insurance for me at age 50, living in London comes in at £95 or so with Peter Best. For those who want piccies, I'll get some tomorrow. I'm after £550 but AS discount will apply, so £500 ovno to you lot. It has to go one way or t'other. There you go. Pillock
I can confirm these offer daft levels of VFM. The higher power VVC with a bigger throttle body should go well, too.
The Old Bloke Next Door
I like that, is the car still in Warwickshire and will it still be there this sunday?. Due to current workload, viewing in London is too far away for me to travel at the moment.

purplebargeken
The car and I were only in Warwickshireland for the day only. I'd offer to drive her up but I cannot bear the thought of being crippled more, soz. She really is as described, she has the odd scratch and ding but she is lovely to drive, mega grin inducing, oh yes.
purplebargeken
Sorry, forgot to add that she has the stainless steel underfloor coolant pipes too! Also a black leather armrest and hand brake handle. You can see some scratching on the bonnet: The seats are in good order bar this bit:

Fabergé Greggs
Wowzers. I'd love to try one of these as they surely offer some unbeatable thrills per £. Shame I'm on a practicality drive and that appears to have less storage than an x1/9!
purplebargeken
Hmm, not sure. I've never examined the Fiat boot. The F boot is deep, literally as wide as the car and about 3/4 the 'depth' of the boot lid. I might try and get a piccie for interests sake. The seats are really comfy and it's a nice driving position but it's the spinal arthritis and so on that is screwing me up big time
Craig the Princess
What a beauty, especially at that price. Sadly I have no cash or space but GLWTS

Fabergé Greggs
I fully advise you to ignore me.... erm.... Ah flip, what's the harm in asking: Whereabouts in London are you? Does you happen to have a luggage, or even better, a bike rack for it?Swap it for my freshly mot'd classic c90?

purplebargeken
You can get auto versions of these cars, they use the Steptronic transmission system. I've never driven one but the 45 had it and it is quite decent. I'm in North London, Edmonton to be precise. There is an overground station not 5 minutes away if that helps. Or 10 or so minutes from the A10/JM25/M25.
purplebargeken
Well there are 3 peeps looking (or will be looking) at insurance quotes today, so who knows, the little F may well stay within the AS community. It would be nice if she did. Good luck folks, I hope you can get some decent quotes. May the best AS'er win!
purplebargeken
Well, she is now provisionally sold to an esteemed member of this here very forum. xtriple
I'd love to try one at some point. I do love my MX5s but I've had a few now and I'd like a change. I shall have to keep an eye out for a nice slushmatic version. Yours looks to be a very nice car. Sorry to hear that you are suffering physically, it's no fun is it. dollywobbler
This week's (out tomorrow) Classic Car Buyer has a small test of a Steptronic MGF. Sounds intriguing. I've driven the Rover 100 and 200 with CVT transmission. They're hilarious.
